Mt. Sac nursing program spring 2018

Published

Good evening everyone.

My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Spring 2018 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see everyone's status, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. I have not taken my HESI yet; I am taking it August 17th. I am also working on finishing up a summer class to know where my gpa stands for points on the multi criteria. I am between 76 and 83 points depending on my HESI score, gpa, and work experience. Not sure what the cutt off will be for the Spring 2018 semester, but I'm hoping I will have enough points. Hope everyone is having an awesome night. Hope to hear from future students.

Congrats to everyone that got in.. looking forward to seeing you all at orientation.. Quick question though, you guys know how we have to reply to the email that we are accepting the offer for the program right? How soon do we get a response back from them regarding the details of the orientation? I am asking because I already sent out a response email but I never got a reply back from them yet.

Congratulations to all! Good question. I just sent them the following email: "Will the nursing dept. be sending out confirmation of receiving our acceptance letters for the program starting this next spring? Also, will you be sending out any further details regarding the program orientation?"

I'll let you know what they say when...

EDIT: I just saw that in our acceptance letters they mentioned that more information about the orientation and parking will be sent out during the first week in December.

That was my question also. I'm paranoid they didn't receive it lol. Has anyone looked into financial aid for the program? Also, on the email it says "Please be reminded that all required documents must be on file to ensure your enrollment in the program." What documents would those be ?

Right? What documents? Don't they already have everything they need? I'm going to send an email and I'll let you know what they say...

A couple weeks ago I looked into financial aid in the form of student loans both subsidized and unsubsidized and learned that I had missed the last mandatory orientation for the Fall semester. Such a bummer! I was told to apply in the Spring.

In regards to federal and state grants, the application period is currently open.

Hi Jenn_a28

The following is the response I got back regarding your documents question:

"Hello Jon:

That is our disclaimer from our nursing program. If all , or any documents

you submitted for application purposes are missing, your status can change.

Thank you for reading it thoroughly. :)

Vienna"

Hope this puts your mind at ease... Did you take micro 1 by chance?

They responded 6 days after I sent a response. In that email they say, "I have received your response for Spring 2018. We will email you

orientation and parking information the first week of December 2017."

Hi Everyone ! I have a question , i won't be applying to the nursing program until Jul 1.-Sep1next year so 2018 , for the semester of spring 2019, but i was wondering did turning the application in late affect anyone that got in ? Only because i know I'm going to have to be taking my Hesi test in July I believe.

Also congrats to all that made it ! This thread is very nerve racking but so exciting and i can hardly wait for my turn !(:

Hello and congratulations to all who have made the ADN program at Mt. SAC! I wanted to ask if any of you who have accepted also applied to Cypress College's ADN program? If so, would you mind notifying the Health Science Applications office in writing that you would like to withdrawal your name/application if you choose to keep your seat at Mt. SAC to possibly open up seats for others who are waiting to hear from Cypress's program . Please and thank you! Good luck on your journey to becoming an RN.

Hi,

I think it's too soon to know but I could be wrong and maybe someone else can help you out. I know that the application cohort which applied during the spring had several applicants with the same number of points in the 60th position. In this case their order was determined by the date of their application submission; essentially, those who applied earlier were positioned before those who applied later. Really though, you only need to worry about when you turn in your application if you end up in the 60th position out of the 60 candidates chosen for the program.

PS: For the fall cohort, the first Hesi A2 exam didn't take place until Aug. 15th with an additional 2 or 3 dates scheduled afterwards. Initially I was concerned because my test date was so late in the application period, but because my point total was above the accepted low, it didn't make any difference. Hope this puts your mind at ease a bit...

I took the Hesi Exam the last day and I believe a week after I turned in the application. Even with that, I was still able to be in the nursing program and was #22 on the list. I hope that this helped you out.

Okay thank you !(:

Just curious, has anyone received their orientation packet yet?
