MSN WGU Job Opportunities

So , I know very little about WGU other than a lot of people get degrees from here. So, I am planning to start an MSN program soon and debating between my state school program and WGU. My main question is will my future employers negatively judge or judge differently a degree from a reputable state school vs WGU. I am currently a manager of acute inpatient unit and want to continue to advance my career and don't want a degree if it won't be judged equally as others. I would appreciate feedback from others who have obtained an MSN or know others and their potential job opportunities post degree. Thanks.

WGU is a fully accredited and well respected university. You almost certainly won’t encounter the situation you asked about.

Im in my 2nd term of the RN to MSN Leadership track, and have found the program to be rigorous and challenging, but well developed. I’ve enjoyed my experience so far.

I recently interviewed for a position, and mentioned that I was in the process of finishing a nursing degree, the manager asked me where I was attending school, I told her WGU, she said she was an ADN who has her BSN and her MSN both from WGU, she was very proud to share that. I agree with Bortaz, I find the work doable but rigorous and engaging and it is adding to my experience of nursing.

As a MSN graduate of WGU, I have never had an issue with my degree. I concur with 415RN and Bortaz

I got my MSN through WGU, BSN through a brick and mortar school. Both degrees are well respected.

I just finished WGU Prelicensure BSN. I'm torn between the Leadership and Education track. Any insight?

I did L&M because that's the path I'm already on in my career. I have heard it said, too, that the Leadership MSN offers more opportunities for employment with few limitations as compared to the ED one.
