MSN FNP 2016

Published

I was wondering if anyone applied for the MSN FNP program for Chamberlain, Spring 2016. Let me know thanks!

I am hoping to be accepted July 2016. Unfortunately I have limited options due to low GPA. My only other choice would be to do a fnp and then do a advance certificate. That would make it 5 years to get FNP. My Union will only pay for the first masters and the certificate would be out of pocket. The clinical site is cause for concern. Since I am from New York and all my professional network is in New York. I plan to move to New Jersey where I don't know any family practices. How much support do they give you to find clinical sites?

You have to find your own clinical sites. The school can help you by telling you if anyone in your area has executed a contract with the school, but otherwise it's all you.

I have applied to the May start date!

I will be starting the program in May 2016 as well! How difficult is this first foundations course? For those of you all that have already started. I'm getting nervous, nursing school all over again. Eeek.

Hi emillaBSNRN I will also be starting May 2016. I am very excited. I will sent an email to your gmail account and hope we can stay in touch. I would also like a syllabus :)

Good luck and talk to you soon.

I'm starting in sept. Very nervous. Did you all have to have preceptors already lined up. My advisor is saying she can't enroll me until I set up my preceptors which is fine but then I see others posing how they don't anything set up a year into it. I have someone i want to do it but she is on maternity leave now so I can't have her fill out anything yet. Just wondering.

Hi momof3lv, I wasn't able to be registered either until I had my primary clinical site selected. It seems a little odd having to find someone so soon but I believe it was because students were having a difficult time locating sites when the time came. I was able to find a preceptor this soon though.

Hi Momof3lv.

Congrats on getting accepted! I had to provide the school with my preceptor info before they could registered me as well. I provided a primary care clinic NP so that it would meet all of their requirements. I am going to keep looking around to find a couple more options just in case something comes up with this one. I have a friend that goes to University of Southern Alabama for her FNP and she said a few people in her program had to find new preceptor because their initial preceptors accepted another student, no longer works with the facility or there was some sort of "paperwork issues." She advised me to stay in contact with my preceptor so (hopefully) I wont have that problem. I'm sure everything will work out well.
