MSN/DNP for ADN with Bachelors in Another Field

I am an ADN prepared RN who has a BA and an MA in another field. I'm interested in becoming an FNP and am looking for programs that do not require a BSN for MSN or DNP. I've found Frontier Nursing University and Simmons University.

I've searched here, but it seems like there's no consensus in what to call this type of program. Any schools that you guys know of?

If you search either "RN to MSN" or "ADN to MSN" you should find several, both traditional and on-line.

Best wishes.

You are unicorn outlier person.

Not sure what to call it, and I doubt your previous credits will mean very much-sorry-my experience.

Actually, I am about to graduate from an ADN program and quite a few of my classmates have Bachelor's degrees. Of the ADN to MSN programs in my area, some will use your non-related Bachelor's and some will not. If you find one that will use your Bachelor's, you may just have to take more classes than someone who has their BSN would.

I agree with @chare's suggestion, and you could also add "with bachelor's in another field" to get some more specific results.

Thanks to you all! I appreciate it.

I am also most likely going to be pursuing my ADN, but have my BSW and an MA in a different field and will be looking for an RN-MSN program, I've wasted too much financial aid to try and pursue a BSN at this point. I would agree with looking for RN to MSN programs, I've seen several offered online, but I haven't looked too closely into requirements.

Specializes in MSICU.

Northern Arizona University has a program like this. You have to complete 2 BSN bridge courses online and then can apply to their MSN degree paths. One of which is a FNP track and one is a master's generalist track.

I am looking for the same. I have a BA and a MEd and I am trying to find a ADN to MSN or DNP program. Seattle University (on campus), Simmons, Samford Uni (AL), and Uni of South Alabama is all I have found right now. I graduate with my ADN next year so I have just started the researching process. I do see that a lot of places want 1 year of work experience before you can apply to their program!

I hope that helps!
