MSN-Direct Entry

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone! I just joined this site and thought I'd take the time to introduce myself.

I recently was accepted into a MSN-Direct Entry (Clinical Nurse Leader) program. I start in January and am very excited to learn.

Is anyone else here a direct entry student?

I currently hold a Bachelors in Biology and have been working in a research lab for the past three years. During that time I have been taking the necessary pre-reqs needed to get into nursing school. I was unsure what I wanted to do right after college and I am glad that I took the time necessary to figure it all out. Now I am am eager to be a student again and look forward to a career in nursing.

I meant to ask you....what were your 2 other degrees in? We are sort of in the same boat...I have a Bachelor's in business and a Master's in teaching.

B.A. in History and a M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology, which is basically education, just focused on corporate training. I'm a trainer for a private practice group.

Nursing is definitely going to be it for me...no going back after this. I have been a teacher for 4 years and I like it okay...I just can't imagine doing this for the next 30 years. Nursing is so appealing to me because there are so many different areas to go into. Do you live close to UT? It will be a long drive for me if I get in...I'm in Oakland

Hello!

I am planning to apply to the accelerated MSN program next year in Southern California, but I don't know much about it yet. Does anybody know if it is as impacted/competitive as the RN programs? How many students do they accept every year?

Specializes in Urgent Care NP, Emergency Nursing, Camp Nursing.

Go ask this in the CA Nursing Programs forum under the "Region" tab.
