MSMC ABSN Fall 2013 Program

Hi!!

Just wanted to see if there were any other people on here that applied for the Mount St. Mary's ABSN Fall 2013 program? I just turned in my application yesterday and crossing my fingers that I get in.

From reading other threads about this program, I hear it's pretty competitive.

Hope to hear from some other people soon who also applied so we can all wait this out together! :)

Hi, x-smiler!!!! I am planning to take Bioethics at Taylors. I already ordered 3 books, which costs me about 100$. Probably, next week I will register. I want to finish till August because I want to take a rest before such rigorous nursing program. How about you?

I planned to register for the class at Taylor next week too but I am wondering if it's a good idea or just wait until I'm accepted.

Just curious, has anyone applied to or been accepted to other schools or is everyone just waiting on msmc?

I too only applied to MSMC. It was the only program that was still accepting applications at the time I was applying.

Hi all,

So I applied to MSMC and Concordia University. But what I realized yesterday was that Concordia won't even be letting people know if they've got interviews until the middle of July and not about acceptances till the middle of August and we're probably going to have to respond to MSMC before then.

So I guess if you're like me and you applied to both you really don't get too much of a choice. Oh well! I just want to get into an ABSN program!

And for those taking bioethics class at Taylor, is it the Philosophy 410 class?

I waiting to be accepted prior to enrolling to the bioethics class. Dont want to put the chariot before the horses. I have applied to msmc, charles drew and concordia. If everything else fails, im applying for cal state goleta/channel island which offers a great program by the cottage health hospital. I dont mind if it is longer (2.5 yrs) so i can keep working as a medical scribe at the SB hospital while going to school. I am sad to be leaving the job soon if i get in anywhere :( it is also a networking job so that when i pass the nclex, i can apply for. Job. We should know within the next week or 2 about acceptance i think.

I had my interview today and she said they have a few more tomorrow and are gonna try to start mailing out letters this Friday

Hi mgolikov,

The Taylor Bioethics course is the accepted online course for Bioethics on MSMC website. It's a self paced course but will take you at least 6 weeks in my opinion. You have up to 4 months to complete the course. You would be able to finish all of the course requirements in a month if you put your mind to it, but the way that the course is structured you have to wait for the professor to write notes on your assignments and get back to you so that really slows the pace of the course. I think the course costs about $1000 + books that cost about $100. (I can't remember exactly...maybe someone else on here knows for sure) The course isn't super easy but I'm sure it's a whole lot easier to take it now than with all the other classes we'll be taking next spring:)

So does anyone know if tomorrow is the absolute last day for interviews for this cohort? Cause I'm kinda freaking out because I never received an email to interview. I'm thinking that maybe it's cause I still had classes 5 classes in progress? 3/5 were done officially last week and I'm taking 2 right now for Summer.

Does anyone know if people have gotten accepted to the ABSN program WITHOUT an interview?

HELP. I'm freaking out.:dead:

When I was trying to set up my interview for this week, the woman I was corresponding with said that the last day for interviews were Tuesday. If you have any concerns, I would call. As you know, I've had a ton of problems with my application, and had to call at least 3 or 4 times. It's better than falling through the cracks.
