Unless it's an area desperately in need of nurses, the likelihood is very low. Many places are actually seeing an oversupply of nurses, not a shortage. Being a city and not rural, Savannah probably is not suffering a shortage and there will be many more applicants than open positions. Not only have most hospitals done away with relocation assistance and sign on bonuses, many are also curtailing or eliminating tuition reimbursement. It is an employers market, and many are taking advantage of that.
I was between two jobs offers and both were open about their relocation policies without me even asking. One was straightforward in saying that they offered nothing while the other told me in my interview that they would allot up to $2000 for movers. If your benefits and whatnot aren't discussed during the interview, wait until after you are offered the position to bring it up!
I recently did receive a hefty sign on bonus offer in Atlanta and also a relocation bonus in savannah. It depends on skill set, experience, area of expertise, but in general--- they will not offer it. Only ask after you have received a job offer. If you're a new grad, it won't happen. I know two people with experience who did not get relocation bonuses after asking at the time I did, but like I said-- depends on where you're relocating from and what area you're going into along with experience. These days it's more like a business.....

Hey everyone,
I am from Virginia and I have a phone interview next week with a hospital in Savannah, Georgia. I was hoping to discuss moving reimbursement, if I get offered the job. Does anyone have any experience with this. Are a lot of hospitals offering this still? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
