Mountain View Spring 2020 application.

Published

Hello everyone I am just starting a thread to see if anyone else plans on applying to Mountain View in the fall for spring 2020. Or anyone who goes there how many points should I strive for to get into the programs. Hope to hear from y’all.

I agree, there’s so many different forms of material that we can use to help supplement our education in this field. It isn’t an absolute requirement to buy expensive learning materials anymore but I understand the need for unified information due to the book specific exams. Although quality learning generally depends on the person in regards to learning material and what works best for themselves personally.
I’ve acquired a few books while trying to get a head start on our foundations semester so I was hoping that I only needed a handful of the books on the book list. I‘m going to play it by ear so that I can minimize spending. I bet there will be quite a few times that last minute things will pop up that we will have to pay for during the next 2 years.

I have a few versions of the Fundamentals of Success & RN NCLEX Saunders test prep on pdf if anyone wants a copy; for anyone that wants to start working on answering nursing questions early.

I would love to receive a copy.. what would be the best way to receive it.

I’m pretty sure it’s all of the skills supplies that we will be using and getting tested on during the skills portions. Different catheters, pads, gauze, NG tubes, etc.

?? I can get all that from my job for free

I think I can post a link to a folder in my Onedrive account and make it available for a little so you can download the PDFs'. Let me make sure that I'm not encroaching on any of the rules on this forum by doing that real quick.

lol for real, you can save so much by dipping into the Central Supply room probably. It's so much money bleeding out of our pockets before the start of the semester.

Yes, I am pretty sure you will need a stethoscope but that's my own assumption. I bet they will advise on that during success camp. Best thing to do is look on amazon and shop the reviews. I purchased one a while back so that I could get used to using one.

Soooo I can't post anything that shares possibly copyrighted material nor my own personal information. Just send me a personal message on here and we'll swap emails. I'll send you a link that way.

After careful brainstorming, I have found out that Brookhaven is too fast-paced for me. There are classes that are only 5 weeks and 6 weeks with the same amount of information to digest and also the same amount of coursework to be completed. While I will be working part time during the program I think MVC is the best option. I have decided to pursue MVC. Also I heard that some faculty members at Brookhaven are too uptight, recording the lecture are not even allowed, even laptop computers are not allowed not unless the course uses an ebook.

Hey @AspiringPsychNP! Would you be willing to share more information about the Brookhaven nursing program's schedule? You said that it is too fast-paced and I kind of wanted to get an idea of what that means. If you don't want to re it here on the forum, can you inbox me a private message with more details? Thank you!!!

some of their classes only last for 5 weeks or 6 weeks with the same amount of coursework and the same amount of material to be covered. Thats why I said it is too congested for me, I need to work while in the program at least part time

Ah I see...everything is just really condensed. I feel you on that. I have to work too and this is concerning. I know those who worked and made it but gosh its really difficult.
