This is a discussion on Mount St. Mary's College Los Angeles - Accelerated BSN applicants for Summer 2013. I was not able to find any discussion forums on this, so I thought I would start one!

I have recently applied to MSM's accelerated BSN program for Summer 2013...and I wanted to see if there is anyone else out there as eager as I am to hear back! :)

Hello All! Congrats to those who have been accepted!!! I am currently in the ABSN program. I just remembered being on this blog during my application process. I am not sure if it has been discussed yet, but I would definitely take the Bioethics course ASAP if you have not signed up for it already. Just take it now. I completed it the summer before I started in about 5 weeks. I am currently in our "junior" year with 3 classes and two clinical rotations. If you don't take it now then that would be added to the list. I took it at Taylor University online. It is a school in Indiana and it is about $1000 and you complete it at your own pace. I don't remember the specific course number, but Im sure you can find it searching on their site...Good luck and congrats to everyone!!!!

tbmw: Thanks for the heads up, and I have a quick question about the bioethics course. Would it be cheaper if I take the bioethics course at Taylor vs. taking it at MSMC during the school year? Thank you!

Did anyone get their info packets this week? I did not get mine yet and I'm not sure who to call but I want to make sure I'm getting done everything I need to.

aleong29 - yes it would be cheaper than MSMC..way cheaper..As soon as I found out I was accepted on MSMC portal I immediately signed up for the bioethics course at Taylor, I did not wait for the application packet to come.

I received a financial aid award packetfrom MSMC....so far that's it. Yeah, the Taylor course will be 3 times cheaper. I just have to decide if the last 6 weeks from now till we start our program is worth it to take Taylor....or just enjoy the last 6 weeks enjoying with family or friends. If anyone knows...are you allowed to take Taylor online while in the ACCBSN program concurrently. or once you start the program, you will be forced to take it at MSMC on one of the tri-mesters...? Good luck and keep on posting.

Thank you for your help! If I may ask, what is the bioethics course like at Taylor? Assignments required, reading? I looked through the website but they didn't have a syllabus posted. I'm wondering if I have enough time to complete the course before classes start. Thank you once again!

Yes, I believe you're allowed to take Taylor online concurrently with summer sem, but you HAVE to finish it by Aug 26 I was told. I'm wondering why I still havent received my financial aid packet yet... :( I called them & they said it was mailed last Friday & I've been waiting since today.... I'm only by West LA.
