This is a discussion on Mount St. Mary's College Los Angeles - Accelerated BSN applicants for Summer 2013. I was not able to find any discussion forums on this, so I thought I would start one!

I have recently applied to MSM's accelerated BSN program for Summer 2013...and I wanted to see if there is anyone else out there as eager as I am to hear back! :)

Creineck: thank you for this post. Can you offer any word of advice for upcoming students? What kind of assignments are required? Presentations? Papers? Etc.

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if any of you guys could let me know what bachelor's degree you have earned prior to applying to the MSMC Accelerated BSN Program? I am interested in applying for their Accelerated BSN Program and would like to know if a bachelor's degree that is strongly related to science would make a difference, or could it be any type of bachelor's degree? I am trying to finish a Bachelors of Science in Public Administration with a Minor in Health Services that is why... I am not sure if this would make me a good and strong prospective for a Acc BSN candidate. I really hope that the bachelors I'm currently working on is okay. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Hi!

I had a previous bachelors in public health. There were many students who did not have a previous science bachelors for the Acc BSN at MSMC. Hope that was helpful.

Hi everyone!

I'm about to start this upcoming fall cohort and I had a couple questions I'm hoping any past students could help me with. The program is so costly so I"m trying to save as much as I can. Does anybody have any recommendations on how to handle the financial aid/loans/scholarships to pay for school? I've been looking through scholarships and haven't found many options. Any recommendations on specific loan source?

Parking for the Doheny campus is also around 400$ a year, how is the surrounding area? Is it easy to avoid paying the fee and find street parking?

Do you have any other advice before starting the program?
