Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014
Hi @Ramboramirez11, you're from California too? (I saw on your Facebook). We are going to be SO COLD! At least we will have really great grades in the winter? lol. I hear that the summer in NYC is gnarly...that should be interesting. P.S. is everyone thinking about where they are going to live? I'm looking into subleasing in East Village or Greenwich. What do all you New Yorkers think about that? I just want to be able to walk to class since we are going to be there a lot... Also, is anyone planning on applying for scholarships? Laura

Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014
Hi @SEO5 ! I have only paid the $500 deposit. I guess that it might be possible to get housing in Washington Square Village (WSV) which is graduate housing, but not Stuy Town. Stuy town is apartment style with 2 bedrooms, but only available to phd students or something like that- in the email they sent me they said that ABSN students are being treated as a transfer student and that housing services can't guarantee graduate housing for us- which most likely means if it fills up you will be placed in student housing with sophomores, juniors, or seniors in their general undergraduate programs. The other thing is the WSV housing is set up as studio apartments in which you share with another student. I personally want my own room so that is why I am going to try and find an apartment close by...hopefully... I emailed the nursing program and this is what they said to me: The Spring semester will begin on Monday January 27th. Orientation for your program will take place the week beforehand. You will receive all of the information about orientation by email. With regards to housing, there are many different dormitory options, most of which are located within walking distance of the campus. Please check out the following website to see more details about all of NYU's residence halls: http://www.nyu.edu/life/living-at-nyu/on-campus-living/explore-the-residencehalls.html You will likely be treated as a transfer student and not as a freshman by the Office of Housing Services. You may contact them at [email protected] if you would like more details about the policies and options. Hope that this help! Laura

Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014
Hi @Ramboramirez11 I can't seem to find the group on facebook titled NYU ABSN Spring 2014 Entry . Thank you for your research on the housing situation. Personally I do not want to be in an undergraduate dorm, so I asked them if it was possible to be placed in graduate housing and this was their response: Thank you for contacting our office. For the purposes of housing, those enrolled in the accelerated nursing program are considered incoming undergraduate transfers, and are eligible for undergraduate upperclassman housing. You may submit a request to live in graduate halls, by sending an email with your name and University ID(N#), and indicating your request. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate you in a graduate hall. You will not be able to apply for Stuy Town through out office. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reply to this message or contact our office at 212-998-4600. I think that subleasing is probably going to be my best option at this time . Is everyone planning on living in Manhattan? I've been told that I probably won't want to "cross a bridge", but I've only been to NYC for two days so I really don't know! Any New Yorkers have any suggestions, just let me know! Thanks guys! Laura

Hi Shannon! Congrats to you as well! I have so many questions too! Do you know what you are going to do for housing yet? I can't wait to receive the orientation packet, this is so exciting but so stressful! I'm thinking of on-campus housing but I really just don't know what to do! Laura Laura Laura

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else has been accepted into the Spring 2014 cohort? I have a lot of questions that I want to discuss with someone, like where are you planning on living? I'm trying to decide if I should do on campus housing or not...I just have a feeling that these 2 months are going to fly by! I'm in Los Angeles so this is going to be a big move for me, if anyone wants to chat just let me know! Thanks! Laura

This is a discussion on Mount St. Mary's College Los Angeles - Accelerated BSN applicants for Summer 2013. I was not able to find any discussion forums on this, so I thought I would start one! I have recently applied to MSM's accelerated BSN program for Summer 2013...and I wanted to see if there is anyone else out there as eager as I am to hear back! :)
