Mount St. Mary's College LA - Accelerated BSN 2010

This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.

This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )

OMG, it was a list of people? Maybe that was sent to out of state peeps so far so you can make arrangements? This is going to be a long weekend. Enjoy the time in LA, it is going to be a beautiful weekend.

i received the interview email too! (also at 6:45pm). i live in southern california though, i'm wondering if that is the first wave of interviews? im positive they most likely will have a second or even third set of interviews because there are only 20 or so individuals on that email thread.

im nervous and excited too! goodluck everyone :)

hey all,

i got my interview in mid november and the person who interviewed me told me i was the first one they have interviewed for this cohort. my interview lasted almost 45 minutes!! she also said that they're sending out letters of acceptance/denial end of january through the beginning of february. good luck everyone!!

rocky, you had your interview in November??? When I called them last week, the woman told me that no emails had been sent yet. Did you get a letter or email?

i got an email...however, i was really persuasive about my reactivation application. when i got denied the first time, i found out what i could do to make my application stronger and immediately took their advice (volunteer at a hospital, make up anatomy since i got a C in it, and make my personal statement stronger). i also kept in touch with the assistant admissions director and kept her updated with my progress. after i informed her about submitting my reactivation application, she emailed me to meet with her.

Hi Rocky 16, congrats on the interview. What kind of questions did they ask and how many people did you interview with?

i met with one person. the two questions i remembered her asking were:

1. why did you choose nursing now/what made you want to choose nursing now?

2. what moral/ethical dilemma have you encountered?

we also talked about grades, my personal statement, what the program is all about and what kind of demands it requires, and time management.

your interview date is coming up right? im so excited for you! keep us posted with what they ask you also...hopefully we can be future classmates!! :)

Thanks for the fast response Rocky. I do hope we are classmates together!! My interview will be scheduled sometime in January. I live in Oregon, so I will fly down. But I am hoping to interview Monday or Tuesday because I am in LA this weekend. I will most definitely keep you posted!! Good luck!!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for these postings. I've been glued to them over the last several weeks, waiting to hear back from Mount St. Mary's for my interview (still have not yet received an email).

To the people who most recently posted informing that you got the email at 6:45pm: was that on Friday evening or Saturday evening?

Also, do you think they are doing this alphabetically? Do all of you guys fall in the A-E category?

Just trying to figure out what their method is but I think the key for me is to have faith and be patient! It seems like this is the first round of interview emails (besides the person who had an interview in November) so I'm not too worried yet.

To answer your questions, the email was sent on Friday at 6:45PM and my last name begins with "R"

I do think this is the first round of interviews b/c there were less than 30 people on the email list and according their website in FAQ, they offer admission to 45 people. It is def a good idea to have positive thoughts. :loveya: Is this your second time applying?
