Mount Sinai ABSN Summer 2021

Hi everyone, 

I know there's forums for Mount Sinai's ABSN program for the last couple of cohorts, but nothing for Summer 2021. Thought I'd start this one and see if anyone else has applied for the Summer 2021 start?

I was wondering this too. Cause I know one of my official transcripts will most likely arrive after the 15th. And then id have to submit another one for my last prerequisites when I finish the class.

Email them. They worked with me with extending the deadline for submission.

Yes. I spoke with Gurdeep, he said, as long as your BA is complete, you have some more time, (not sure exactly how much) to finish your prerequisites. For me, my semester ends on the 16th and will be another few days till it posts and he said that's okay.

I still have 3 prereqs in progress and my semester doesn’t end until may 11th. Tuan emailed me about this prior to them accepted me and I explained the situation. He said that sometime in April I need to request a form from my professors stating that I am in good academic standing and will pass the class and that’ll be good enough for Mount Sinai for me to start as part of their May cohort.

Hey everyone! 

 

Thanks for your help! I emailed admissions and they weren't really clear with what they wanted in terms of a longer date to submit ? They just asked how many prerequisites I had left and if I had submitted the application yet. I also was pestering him with questions so that might have been why haha.

Has anyone had any luck with the Ethics courses? I've previously taken a class called "Research in Disciplines: the Ethics of Urban Development" so I'm not sure how strict they are with it. Otherwise, I guess I'll sign up for Portage tonight! Has anyone else taken it on Portage?

Yeah I think they want it to be related to nursing in some way. I took ethics on portage and it was super easy. You could finish in a few weeks to be honest.

They weren't super helpful via email in my experience. They just told me the deadline was extended to April 23rd, which I still can't meet, ignoring everything I told them. I managed to get one of them on the phone and we were able to negotiate a date. Try to see if they are able to set up a 15 minute call.

How long did it take for them to send you a decision with your acceptance?

I am taking ethics now. I am hoping to finish by the end of the month

Hi there - I was wondering if someone could clarify how PSON manages clinicals. Do the nursing students need to find their own clinical placements, or does Mt. Sinai help match the students with the clinical placement locations? How independent do the students need to be regarding clinical placement.

I got into mount sinai today! I am currently taking ethics on portage and thinking about taking patho and pharm on portage as well after reading the comments above... I didn't know it was needed till now
