Hi all,
Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?
Thanks!

Yes. How many- no one really knows. You should receive information in the coming weeks regarding how to apply.

Yes, they do! There are a few but you must apply to them when they release the forms.

The admissions counselor who is leaving also said they are planning to have the same numbers for the next cohort and she couldnt watch more people go through that, so she quit
This is 100% true. They definitely were not ready for our cohort.
But I do think they are learning from their experience with us - and on the bright side, you guys WILL be having the new school in upper Manhattan. So you won't be learning in a tight, small auditorium like us.
Its all about perspective and end game.
I absolutely wish that things were better but I also acknowledge that we were certainly the guinea pigs in all of this.
Mount Sinai is a powerhouse here in the city, the school is accredited with an NLN badge and there will be more expansion.
Any and every nurse I’ve ever talked to has always told me you’re going to learn what Nursing is really all about when you step on the floor AFTER school. As we see this pandemic unfolding not even the biggest hospital systems in the world are prepared and as organized as they should be. Think on that.
I've attended both State & Private schools.... education can just be really messy.
I had some time this evening so I answered a few questions but if you have more feel free to send a private message.
No matter what you decide make use of this time- it’s precious.

I read that this program is in hybrid form. Will this mean that some of our courses will be online, and that we would come in sometimes for in-person classes/clinicals? Also, the new location in upper Manhattan is unfavorable due to the unsafe reputation of East Harlem. Do any classes/clinicals occur in the evening/night?

Hey! Before I started I heard it was Hybrid, in our first semester some classes were only every other week - but now we have all classes every week and nothing is hybrid at all.
We have had classes end in the evening sometimes, and it will be somewhat frightening in that area, I guess we will have to stick in big groups.

OK. I doubt I’ll be able to afford this. I won’t be able to get private due to my credit and no co-signer?. I really need to think about my options.
