Hi everyone, just wanted to start a thread for those of us that applied for Mount's Fall ADN program. The application deadline is coming up next week (4/01/19) and just wanted to keep in touch with everyone that applied for this Fall.

Good luck everyone!

Hi! You already came this far in submitting your application, writing personal statements, and finishing pre-reqs. I don't think you screwed yourself over. Call the school tomorrow (first thing in the morning) and explain to the admissions people your situation. Their number is (213) 477-2561.

Thank you for being supportive. I emailed them immediately but will call as well!!! Im so devastated. ?? Im hoping for the best thanks again!

Hello everyone so I am taking my teas test this Sat May 4 but for some reason I decided to look in my spam mail and I had received an email from MSMU stating we needed TEAS scores in by April 29. I am freaking out. I can't believe I missed it by that close!!!! I thought they were going to invite us if we haven't taken the test but the last test was this past weekend. Any thoughts??? Did I really just screw myself over rn???

I also found the MSMU email in my spam box. How frustrating, right?? I would have missed the deadline if it weren't for my friend asking me about it. Worse case scenario they would probably tell you to reapply for next open enrollment. But hopefully they still allow you to submit the TEAS score. Keep us updated!

So i just called and they said its too late I would have to reapply for next session. ??

Don't give up! Maybe it's a sign that you will get in to one of the Junior Colleges and save money. I know Mount San Antonio College and Glendale Community College is having their open enrollment in July 2019.

With Mount SAC they only accept HESI and they have it available on their campus in June. Make sure to look at their website for more information. Also, former RN students at Mount SAC get a discount if they wish to pursue their BSN through Mount Saint Mary's. That's something to consider too.

Good Luck!

You know what? At least you tried! And plus, if you take your TEAS exam next week, you can probably use that score for the next term. That way you don't have to worry about if the email from MSMU got in your spam. Also, sometimes we need a little break from school and catch a breath. So, it's a good time for you to relax and prepare mentally for nursing school.

Never give up and keep moving forward!

Hi Everyone! I’m planning to apply for Spring 2020 LVN-ADN but I was wondering does anyone know how they calculate their gpa? Is it just the nursing prerequisites or all of the other classes you’ve taken in college ? I was a different major before and I’m afraid all my other non related nursing prerequisites will effect it. Thank you everyone and good luck !

Hi! So this is just what I read on their website. It looks like they take both the nursing prerequisites and the cumulative GPA. But I would call the admissions people and ask for an accurate answer.

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone who attended the ADN nursing program will be answer a few questions.

1. What advice would you have for adn students attending this school? (I got accepted for Fall 2019)

2. Are there exams during the nursing program, where if you don't pass first try you get kicked out. Or is there a minimum gpa/ % each student must have to continue in the program, I believe for most schools its 75%?

3. Is the workload reasonable? Did many people get kicked out?

1: form a study group, it will save you. Don’t buy the books right away because sometimes you’ll get the ebook for free. Be prepared to do a lot of self teaching.

2: You have two attempts to pass the dosage calculation tests, if you fail both you take the quarter off and have to remediate/retake the course. Other than that, if you end up with a 75% or higher you’ll be good in terms of classes.

3: I only know of 3 students being dropped from the program due to grades. We started off with 34 and graduated with 30 (one student had to retake a course for missing a mandatory sim day).

thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Cant believe you responed so fast, your amazing!

No problem, this is what I’m doing as breaks from nclex studying. I’m not selling any of my books but I’m sure you can find used ones on amazon.
