Hey everyone, I’m graduating from the mount next week and will be happy to answer any questions.

Thank you thank you! I have a few questions about the school.

1.) Is the work load manageable? Does it get overwhelming sometimes? How helpful are the professors?

2.) Do you feel prepared to take the NCLEX? And do you think this school prepared you to become a good nurse?

3.) What is the clinical like and how soon do you get put into your rounds?

I might have more questions, but this is all I can think of.

1) The workload is definitely manageable. Study groups definitely comes in handy and helps offset some of the work load when it comes to study guides. It did get overwhelming at points, but you just keep pushing yourself and get past it. The professors do help a bit, but there are going to be times you’re teaching yourself.

2) I feel like I’ll be ready for the nclex. The school provides access to Kaplan, which has their QBank (NCLEX style questions). I think the school did prepare me to be a good nurse in both lecture and clinical.

3) I loved clinical! Of course you’ll have some days when the unit is slow or the nurse you’re assigned to doesn’t want to be a mentor. You’ll be placed in med surg 1 clinicals in the second quarter of your first semester. All the hospitals are awesome also, but county is the place you’ll learn the most.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi!! Just wondering approximately what are the monthly payments for the program? I know it varies for each person and how much did financial aid help?

Also, do you know the length of the program for LVN-ADN? Were the clinicals every other weekend or straight weekends? And which hospitals? Thanks!

Hey, so for monthly payments they take the cost of tuition for the semester+school fees+$60 fee for using the payment plan and divide it by four. I think the first semester comes out to around $4000 a month. After that it ranges anywhere from $2,000-$2,700.

I think the LVN-ADN program is around 1.5 years. I believe they join one of the classes already in med surg 2 or later. Clinical dates depend on your instructor and clinical site. Sometimes you'll be double days every other weekend, double days every weekend, or either saturday or sunday only but every week for 8 weeks. The hospitals I remember on the list were LAC/USC medical center, California, Huntington Memorial, Glendale Memorial, Kaiser, St. Francis, Torrance Memorial. Im unsure if the school secured more locations for the cohorts behind us.

Hello so I have applied to the ADN program for this fall. I had a couple questions about the class schedules....How does that work? Do they give us a set schedule or do we get to pick a range of times. I do understand that clinical have their own set schedule but its more during the week I am concerned about. Thanks!!

They have two cohorts based on time. Afternoon classes are from 1230-1630, and I believe evening is 1730-2130.

Hello everyone so I am taking my teas test this Sat May 4 but for some reason I decided to look in my spam mail and I had received an email from MSMU stating we needed TEAS scores in by April 29. I am freaking out. I can't believe I missed it by that close!!!! I thought they were going to invite us if we haven't taken the test but the last test was this past weekend. Any thoughts??? Did I really just screw myself over rn???

First semester you’ll be on campus Monday-Wednesday, second semester first quarter I believe it was Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, after that it’ll be one day on campus for lecture until you graduate.

Hi! You already came this far in submitting your application, writing personal statements, and finishing pre-reqs. I don't think you screwed yourself over. Call the school tomorrow (first thing in the morning) and explain to the admissions people your situation. Their number is (213) 477-2561.
