Mount Saint Mary's ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone,

I submitted my application for MSMU ABSN Fall 2017 a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be great to start a page and see who else applied!

Sounds like we should be hearing whether we're invited to take the math exam within the next month!

Has anyone heard anything else? It'd be great to keep each other updated through this crazy process!

Good luck to everyone!

Let us know if people start seeing their scores! I'll be on the lookout as well! Stats for me:

Undergrad GPA: 2.85 (Business degree 6 years ago from USC)

Pre-Req GPA: 4.0

Work experience: Certified EMT, founder of the student-run EMT services on USC campus where we helped out at big events, EMT at an ambulance company full time and now work as an Emergency Room Technician at a hospital full time.

Math exam results have been sent. Check your emails.

98%! 49/50. I know I should be grateful I only missed one question, but I'm more annoyed I missed a question haha. I hope not getting 100% doesn't affect admissions decisions...

Just found out I got 100%. Really grateful! Going to be praying about being invited for an interview!

Congrats!! When do you think we will hear about the interviews??

Congrats on the Math Exam success!!! Mine, not as well as the almost 100 :( BUT not terrible AND Agasia reiterated that the test doesn't alter admissions... fingers crossed. I have been in social work for the past 10+ years so my math is definitely rusty. I definitely am aware I need to brush up for the field! That being said I am hoping they will look at my work commitment towards healthcare and know that I am capable of learning all skill-sets needed!! What can you do- Moving forward,

My undergrad was 2.96 in clinical psych like 10+ years ago!

Prereq GPA around a 3.5

Work Experience: Currently a care navigator for complex care patients with a primary care office. Previous work as a full spectrum doula and rape crisis advocate in NYC. I have a some experience with dialysis, was a case manager in a few different arenas, studied global health with Mt Sinai in NYC...

I definitely do not have the hands on EMT experience like you all but so excited/eager to learn!!

Wow sounds great!! It sounds like we all have great shots!! I believe they only take 40 applicants and there were about 80 that took the math exam, if I heard her correctly? Can anyone else confirm the numbers?

Yes you got the numbers right. I feel that heads will roll using the math exam results because interviewing all 80 applicants is just not feasible. They only have this month to make the decisions, by early June acceptance letters must be sent out.

How many people do you think will interview? 50-60? I heard if you get to the interview stage, you have a pretty good shot of getting an acceptance....? But, who knows! How long do you think we have to wait to hear about interviews? And why are you saying they only have this month to make the decisions...do they HAVE to be sent out by early June?

I feel like they may lose some people, since a lot of programs are going to be letting applicants know already....

Check out similar threads for absn MSMU @hritchie13. Has anyone received an invitation for interview ?

I believe A said we'd be hearing back in the next couple weeks about interviews í ½í¸¬

The wait is so agonizing haha! Let's keep each other updated if we hear anything! Good luck to us all! :-)
