Hi All! What has been the most challenging prereq and do you have any tips to prepare? Was it Bio? Chem? Anatomy? Physiology?
So far, its been general chemistry
Ding Ding Ding!!! Same here. Evening class twice a week, while working 3rd shift and nursing/pumping for my infant daughter at home...I look back and think "WHAT was I THINKING?"
Wow! I had no other obligations and struggled through that course, so I'm amazed that you were able to manage all of that ontop of a horribly boring evening class of statistics. lol Superwoman!
I disliked Statistics too, but I don't think it was particularly hard. You just had to keep track of all the numbers and formulas while remembering what all the symbols meant. I found College Algebra to be a lot more difficult.
True, the course material itself wasn't difficult, but maintaining attention to learn it was. Haha! Thank god that was the only math course I had to take after high school. When I hate something, it's so much harder. All the other pre-reqs had an obvious relation to the field, and it was stuff I was interested in, so it was easier to learn in that sense. I know why we take the statistics course, but honestly, that isn't helping me on the floor. I've forgotten all of it anyway. If I wanted to do research or fully understand the method explanations in research articles I would have to review stats.
You had to take Philosophy as a Pre-req for nursing school?
I did too. We had a wacky professor for that one, but it wasn't too bad.

Yeah, I took it online and I remember hating every assignment. It was so time consuming. I have no idea how I made an A in that class. Also, I don't see how I will ever use it in nursing, but who knows. I assumed if it were really pertinent to nursing, there'd be a class like "Medical Statistics" or something

Pharmacology was the toughest pre-req for me. The volume of reading plus quizzes & med math minimums of 90% or better made it a challenge. I was taking 17 credits that semester and Pharm ate up the majority of my time.
