I forgot to add this. I work with a female nurse named Mikeal (pronounced Micheal) I went to school with Orenda and Takeyla. I have a son named Colby. I also went to school with a girl named January and another named September. Once knew a woman whose first name was Princess (that was her real name) No they are not as odd as some that I have read here but they are not common by any means. However, that is what I wanted for my children, names that were different. At the time, there didn't seem to be that many Dustins or Noahs around our area now it seems that every other boy is named Dustin or Noah!
Here's a good one:Kashmoney... as in cash money! But pronounced "kashmonAY"
I have a friend that named her daughter Urmadestiny and that's just her first name which if said really slow makes it sound like you are my destiny.....no joke....My sisters name is Tameka, My cousins name is Tamaleah, My other cousins name is Grayson which is normal for the southern people.
I have a simple name Stephanie
I've been around long enough to have quite a collection. Some of them: I knew a girl in college named Maida Steele. A patient's niece was a Rose Redd. A baby several years ago in NICU named Dusty Rhodes. An elderly lady named Sweetie Mae. Most recently were some interesting ones in a pediatric practice: Allah, Jihad, Sangria, Miracle. My favorite? Cupcake. All these are from my personal experience- no urban legends here.
I don't know if ya'll know what The Angel Tree Foundation is but it's for kids that have a parent or both parents in jail and the child we sponsered this year....her name was Sunbeam....no joke!

I actually LOVE the name Cinnamon--if I'd had another daughter, I might have named her that.
But, then, I am a diehard Neil Young fan.
I guess i will name the next cat that shows up at my doorstep Cinnamon.
