how far is too far to commute?
I traded a 15min one-way commute for a 72 mile one-way commute, and once I get there I drive to see my clients. However, the hours and benefits were such an improvement that I do not mind the drive at all. Though recently I have started to look for a house a little closer since my DH also drives an hour plus to work, so we're trying to find something in the middle.

Career alternatives to traditional nursing?
Have you thought about Public Health. I work monday-friday no weekends or holidays. Only once since I started have we had to rotate taking a weekend due to a very detailed dressing change that had to be done by us due to no family support to do it when we were off, but that only last for a month and there were 3 of taking turns. Not sure about other Public Health offices but we have nurses that just do MCH (maternal/child health)

Soon to be new Grad LPN looking to move to Alaska
Hello My name is Angela. I will be graduating this coming summer and I'm looking to move. Right now I live in Minnesota. I'm looking at a few different states and one of them is Alaska. I would appreciate any info that anyone has on the employment and house/apartment rental market. And if any Alaskan hospitals offer loan forgiveness or sign on bonuses. I'm also planning on go back to finish my RN after some time off, so I would need to be close to a school that has a good RN program.

Soon to be new Grad LPN looking to move to Tennessee
Hello My name is Angela. I will be graduating this coming summer and I'm looking to move. Right now I live in Minnesota and I am really sick of the horrible winters. I'm looking at a few different states and one of them is Tennessee. I'm thinking about moving to the Nashville area, but I'm not limiting my self to any certain area at this time. I would appreciate any info that anyone has on the employment and house/apartment rental market. And if any hospitals in Tennessee offer loan forgiveness or sign on bonuses. I'm also planning on go back to finish my RN after some time off, so I would need to be close to a school that has a good RN program.
