Hi everyone, this thread is for those who recently applied for the Moorpark College ADN Spring 2016 program and would like to discuss the upcoming wait process, TEAS invite/exam, etc.
Best of luck to all of us!
:)
The Clinical Labs Instructor was the proctor for our TEAS last Friday and she said it is going to be Nov 2nd. They may not have changed the web site yet. I believe that was the original date and Nov is the new date. Either way, I am leaving BOTH open just in case (fingers crossed) I get in! Sooner would be better but just trying to keep busy to pass the time faster.
The site does say it is a new date. So, I guess we will be hearing earlier. They are sending certified mail and I imagine they know we will need time to receive it. My guess is the week of the 19th? The suspense is terrible. We only get the certified letter if we get in--right? So I should be stalking the mailman?

Yeah only alternatives and people who get in get the certified letter. Which I hateee, because it just leaves everything else up in the air, what if someone's letter gets lost in transit? haha.
I live in an apartment complex too, so like, I have no idea what my mail man would if I got accepted and am waiting for the letter - because things like that sometimes get sent to the main office or sometimes he just leaves a note on the door saying it was a missed delivery D:
Now stalking the mailman seems only reasonable.
Any new followers on this thread? Maybe who took the TEAS this last Friday and should be getting their scores today? How did you do?
I noticed on another thread that Mt Sac students are getting appointments to go over their place on the list. It looks as if those with 72 points made it. There score system is close to ours at Moorpark. I was wondering if the applicant pool was similar and scores similar? Anyone know the last few years cut off for points at Moorpark?
I wish we could have appointments similar to that, it seems helpful and less stressful than waiting for the mail haha. I hope Moorpark's points are similar though, then I wouldn't have to be stressing as much.
As for this thread, I wonder if we could get a moderator to move it. I noticed that the OP of this thread made it under the topic "Online Nursing Schools and Colleges" versus "California Nursing" - I feel like we could get more people in here with answers if this thread was in the appropriate spot.
There are normally a number of people who are following the thread and just don't comment. So that might explain the lack of activity. I'll probably try calling the main office later to ask when they'll be sending out acceptance letters. I'll keep you guys updated.
Awesome, thanks for doing that :)!
For everyone who has taken their teas/gotten their scores - what are your total points? Like overall for your application? If I add all my stuff up correctly, I should be at 80/100.
I feel like Moorpark is one of the hardest schools to get an idea of the current applicant pool/previous cohorts average of their points for admissions 😓
I believe I am 79.5 but not positive. They never tell you your actual points given and I am not sure I am adding up my overall GPA properly. I have 4 schools and two Associate degrees. I had a math repeat, but not really. I signed up for it and then dropped it. The first time around I received a B but was told it was too old. Working 50 hours a week and Spanish class and Anatomy were too much. I did not realize dropping the Math would count against me. I wish they would eliminate that criteria and only apply it to the Core Science. I passed it after all fairly decently and also passed M05 College Algebra. My fault though. I should have checked into it more at the time. I just had started my return to school and really did not research as much as I did later.
I plan on NOT working during school at all or only one evening/night a week. Not too sure yet. I do know I am only working two nights a week now and that is only 16 hours--NOT 50+!! lol I will keep trying if I do not get in this go round. I will do Span 2 and get my CNA for more points (four more!) I just wish we knew the cut off. I am on pins and needles.
Anyone else lurking that wants to share/chime in with Stats?

The nursing website has the Open House date listed as October 26th. This is new, right? I think it used to be November 2nd. I think we might be finding out about acceptances a bit sooner than expected.
