Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Ya, I did chp. 6 and I think that is what is confusing me about 7. Chp 6 says measurement goes after the number but in 7 they are doing it before or after the number. Chap. 8 looks soooo long.

The only thing I saw w/ a # written before or after the measurement is ounces. I think for oz it's correct to write it either way. And grains (gr) can be written with Roman or Arabic Numerals. Does this help?

But since we aren't doing the apothecary system, there are no Roman numerals, right??? We also didn't have to do Roman numberals in chp. 1. I know grains (gr) is supposed to go before the number to avoid confusion with grams (g).

Id love to join the yahoo group or google group if you have one.,..did this in the Spring with Microbiology and got an A in class due to everyone chipping in with the objectives and notes...I wasnt sure if anyone could join or an invite (no worries, if so, can try and get a google group going once I meet people in class)...

Please do join us Tina. Just go to the link I provided a few posts back. Click to join and then I will approve you. :-)

Right, generally we will not be using Roman Numerals. We are only to familiarize ourselves w/ the apothecary system in case we come across it and may need to convert to metric.

OK. Thanks. Sliding into Chp 8. How you doing? Speech therapist should be here any minute.

You're welcome. I'm almost done w/ ch. 8. I'm trying to get this booked finished by tomorrow aftn and move onto the ATI module.

Have you done notes for the Fundamentals chapters? I'd like finish up the other two chapters and do notes on the calculations rules too.

Yup, took notes. I need to go back and reread the tables and charts in ch. 34 to prepare for the module.

You don't need to go back. That is basically what the module goes through. It is all basically about hand hygiene, personal protection, isolation, etc. There is a running clock on it so I don't know if they are timed or just keeping track how long it takes you. There are only 11 questions.

Hey ladies! I am feeling MUCH better today, thank goodness! Took Dominic on a playdate with a few of his preschool friends to that awesome park in Germantown...Adventure Playground, I think. The kids had a blast and Dominic actually fell asleep in the car (which meant a peaceful ride home for me!).

I finished Ch. 2 and 3 in Calculating over the weekend (was sick yesterday so didn't do much). Gonna try and finish 4 and 5 tonight. Not too worried about finishing in time; I've finished all my notes and vocab for Fundamentals and the ATI stuff. So it's just the Calculating that I need to work on for the rest of the week. I also still need to go get my ID! Been really procrastinating on that one lol.
