Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Seems to me like the objectives in the course guide are the same or similar to the ones in the book, although some are not word for word and not all the ones in the book are listed in the course guide, only a few select ones. I went ahead and answered all of the objectives in the book so I guess I can go back and highlight the ones that are listed in the course guide. I don't want to study more than is necessary. I still think the vocab words would be useful to know though. Gonna start the 2-5 review tonight for Calculations.

That 75% cutoff is pretty scary! But it looks like they'll give you another chance if that happens. Getting really nervous now....

So we're just doing the Infection Control ATI tutorial for now, right?

I haven't looked at the tutorial on ATI yet...but that sounds right. Finished fractions and decimals. Did you finish the calculation and dosage chapters?

No. I only got through chapters 2-5. Was going to take the module tutorial tonight but now I'm wondering if I should write notes up first based on the objectives we got.

Writing up notes is a good idea. Did you take a good look at what's in the modules? I haven't even submitted the product code, so I have no idea what's there. I'm thinking I'll finish the rest of the chapters than do the tutorial/module after.

No. I wanted to browse it to see what it was like but I was afraid to open it because I was worried I would be timed or wouldn't be able to return to it once accessed.

Rest of what chapters? Calculating?

Andrea looked over the lesson and did the pretest. She said the questions are harder than she expected. And I think there is a post-test for each module.

Yes, I still need to finish the calculating chapters.

Hmmm. Maybe I will do the pretest first and see how I do. If I do horrible I will take the notes, do the lesson and THEN take the post test.

I'm wondering if we need to do the modules for the other topics we'll be covering in the first lab. On page 47 of the course guide, it says that we need to do ATI modules for:

Infection Control

Nutrition, Feeding, and Eating

Oxygen Therapy

Peresonal Hygiene

It says a certificate of completion must be printed out and given to our instructor. But I thought only the Infection Control module was assigned to us. So will we do the other 3 during lab? Or should we do them before lab?

I think they will be assigned to us as we proceed. Right now we only have to do the one module listed on the ATI paper given to us at registration. I would assume in each lab we focus on what we've learned for that week's module or something similar.
