Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).
Sadly, I think I just need a vacation from being a mom. I need some time with just DH alone without the kids getting on our nerves cause that just puts us over the edge and then we bicker with each other. I wish it would have gone better. Like I said, Liam needs to be a bit older (at least where he doesn't have to nap anymore) and Lucas needs to mature a bit.
I don't think I will make it Wednesday. Dirk is back to work that week and usually he doesn't get home until after 8. Sounds like a good idea though. I hope you guys have a good time.
Ok, I officially do NOT like the skills module tests. Confusing, because I found contradictions between the test and what's in the book AND what's in the module itself. But whatever, I guess we gotta do what we gotta do. Also, I didn't see any "Certificate of Completion"; I got a printout of our Individual Performance Profile which shows our score for the test we just took and a printout of "My Skills Status" which shows the scores of all your tests, the dates you took them, and how many times you took them (oh yeah, we can take it more than once). I hope what I have is good enough. Please let me know what you guys think asap. I hope I'm not just complaining for nothing...maybe it's just me?! Lol
I got the badge holders and retractable clips in the mail. The badge holders are verticle though. I could have sworn I ordered horizontal but I guess not. I can try to return them but it would probably cost me as much to do so as I actually paid for them.
So Andrea claimed the purple clip. Which color did you want Kristian...clear, red or blue?
I am almost done with chapter 5 in calculations and will then take the post test. With stupid errors, I've been scoring a B on chapter reviews so I'm not too concerned.
Hopefully I can complete the module tonight after the kids are in bed. Dirk is going out to play in a charity poker tournament.
OMG!!!! I just saw that we are only allowed to miss one question on the procalc exam to administer meds. It doesn't say anything about using calculators. Now I'm even more terrified. We get two attempts to pass it.
Also, it looks like we do get points for completion of the ATI modules, based on the score we get. And we get 60 minutes to take it. Two attempts.
So is the course guide essentially like a study guide???? It looks like it provides objectives and an outline for each chapter, plus assignments.
I think my heart sunk to my gut when I read the procalc requirement. I saw that it said during exams they provide calculators. Hopefully we get calculators for the procalc exam. It is so easy to make stupid mistakes and I guarantee that I would use one while in the hospital to avoid such potentially disatrous and fatal mistakes.

Nikki, sounds like you need another vacation from this vacation! Lol I hope things settle down now that you all are back home.
The ATI thing was timed, but I don't think you have to finish it in a certain time. They just keep track of how long it's taking you, I think. The pre-test only had 11 questions; haven't tackled the post-test yet. I took TONS of notes on the module lessons so I should be okay but still kind of nervous. It is graded also but I think all they care about is the certificate saying we completed it (I hope!). Who knows? Maybe the post-test is important too...
Don't feel bad. Up until 2 days ago I was feeling just as you were feeling. Totally not ready for school to start. Wanting summer to last forever (except for this gosh awful humidity!). Feeling really unmotivated. Don't laugh at me: but my mom actually got me to watch an episode of The Waltons with her (I used to watch it with her all the time when I was much younger but haven't seen any episodes in over 10 years) and this episode was one in which the eldest daughter in the family goes off to nursing school. It actually really inspired me to start doing my homework! Lol weird how moms always know how to give you that little extra boost :)
You'll be fine! I hope you can come to The Greene Turtle next week; maybe it'll help motivate you to hear everyone talking about school?
