Montefiore School of Nursing Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello all!

I know it's early to make this thread but I wanted to see who else is planning to apply to this program.

The first open house is in February. Anybody else going?

I believe the application deadline is in September, so it makes sense that we won't get acceptance emails until October or November. They would have to test late applicants in Sept/October.

I guess those of us who are testing before September are the early applicants lol

Are you missing any other classes?

No I’ve got all the prerequisites done and even re took some last year to get a better grade in them.

Awesome! I mean, you COULD start reading the fundamentals book now but I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you're taking notes of what you're reading, quizzing yourself often with index cards/questions in the book, and reviewing the notes/chapters every week. I read about 10 chapters before the semester started and forgot everything by the time the semester started and I had to re-read everything all over again...uggh lol

Oh my god I can imagine!! Would that book be the one you wrote to me in the last post ? I might just get it just to get myself familiar with it. I just feel like I should start studying all over again for the damn Kaplan, like I don’t know what to do with my free time and I don’t want to get used to having it loll

Specializes in Ultrasound Technician.

Did anybody took the test already?

Yeah, it's a good idea to get yourself familiar with it now since you have time. There's some chapters that are as long as 80 pages so you're going to be up to your eyeballs in reading lol

Oh, wait until you have to read 12-15 chapters in 3-4 weeks that doesn't include clinical assignments and studying for labs?
