Montefiore School of Nursing Spring 2020

Hello all!

I know it's early to make this thread but I wanted to see who else is planning to apply to this program.

The first open house is in February. Anybody else going?

Well it came and it went with a 71 ?I mean they don’t say a specific grade but I studied so much and everything I studied wasn’t even on there. But you so wonderful for checking up on me!

Keep your head up. Plenty of students get accepted with 70s.

Thank you Brooklyn_nursing26. I’m hoping that having all my prerequisites with all A’s and some B’s will help me out girl.

I know it must be stressful but despite the perception, I hear more students getting in the 70s than 80s.

Yes, I heard people got in with 70s too. If you have all your prerequisites you stand a good chance.

Hey Brooklyn_nursing26. I know I might be getting ahead of myself but, I saw you put a list of books in the 2019 thread would it be a pain if I could ask you for the authors I want to try and see if I can get the right textbooks elsewhere and not at montefiore?

71 is a great grade so don’t give up just yet! How was the science and math portion?

Below are the books I bought for N1 but I wouldn't recommend buying anything until you hear from the school on what books they'll be using. I did the same as you for N2. I bought the N2 book ($160+) back in May and they told us a month or so ago they're using a different book this coming semester so I had to sell mine and buy the version they're using this semester. My gut tells me you guys will have the same books as those I listed but better safe than sorry. #2-#4 you can save money on by buying used. #1 is the book you need a code for and it only comes with a new book.

1) Fundamentals of Nursing: The Art and Science of Person-Centered Care Ninth, North American Edition

2) Pharmacology and the Nursing Process 8th Edition

3) Taylor's Clinical Nursing Skills: A Nursing Process Approach Fifth, North American Edition

4) RNotes: Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide 5th Edition
