Greetings!!

I went to a information session for the LPN program at Monroe on April 15, 2009. What I learned from it was that it is a 1+1 program. The LPN is 11 months and the RN is an additional 11 months. You have to take both the NLN & ATI exams. The cost for the exams are $100.00 that must be paid in person at the Bronx campus. For the NLN, you would need to score at the 60th percentile. For the ATI exam, you must achieve an overall score of 70% with no less than 45% in each subset. If you sucessfully pass the exam, the directors of the nursing program will schedule an interview. They say they only take 30 students, so the small classes would work to our advantage. They also said that they're nursing program is only 2 years old. They said they had a state boards passing rate of 96 percent. Another thing that interested me is that they don't require the pre-req's before you get there. They are actually included in your semester once accepted in the program. And these are actual transferable college credits. I don't know about you but I'm so excited! I'm praying that I do well on these exams. If we were to get in, we'll start in September and finish in August! I know I just rambled a bit, but I hope I gave you at least some useful information!! :w00t:

thank you very much for these insights. Please keep me posted of any new info.

Your welcome. Any time!!

Hi, Can you tell me how much the Monroe Nursing programs cost?

i think it costs $21000 for the LPN if i am not mistaking.

Yes, it costs $21,000. Very STEEP...but in my opinion...worth it.

I just took the PN NLN & supposedly scored in the 96th percentile.

I'm still trying to pinch myself because I feel there must have been

a HUGE mistake...or a miracle! LOL. My composite score was 138.

Tomorrow I take the TEAS (ati). I am TERRIFIED about the science

on that. I have studied FOREVER...but with science..you either know it

or you don't. The chemistry has me somewhat worried...but the physics

has me piddling my panties!

So are there any updates? Have any of you gotten in? If not, did they

tell you how you need to improve, etc? For those of you who got in,

do you mind sharing your scores? I'm crossing my fingers!

Is Monroe College still accepting Fall application into the LPN program?

I believe that the last set of exams were given today, which I came from, for the September 2009 program. Anything you do, from now on out, will be for the January 2009 program. I could be mistaken though. If anything, contact the Department of Nursing @ 718/933-6700, ext# 8620.
