Monroe College in Bronx ny

Published

I recently got accepted to Monroe College for the fall 2020 nursing program, I haven’t seen recent reviews about the school and I want to make sure I’m making the right decision. Has anyone attended the school, or graduated?

Im not looking to put all my eggs into one basket so I’m still applying for other schools as well.

Thank you :)

@Nursingbsn thanks a lot for all the information. I have been preparing for interview, however would you mind sharing some questions that they might ask for interview? That would help me a lot. Once again thank you so much.

It was all very generic questions that I’m sure you can find on Google if you search Nursing school interview questions. The person who interviewed me was very laid back and just wanted to get to know me and what my goals were and why I wanted to be in nursing. Nothing too crazy, just answer honestly and you’ll be fine ?

Sure, I will look up and prepare myself. I cannot thank you enough. Thank you so much for your time and Good luck with your classes.

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me with the interview questions and how I need to prepared to answer them? I am really nervous about my interview next week for the Winter 2021 intake and is there any chance if they won't accept you after the interview? I have been working on this since June 2020 and I really need this. Also is there anyone else going through the process for Winter intake?

Thank you

Hello everyone,

sorry for the late response, being in nursing school has been taking up majority of my time so once again my apologies for the late response.

@Akhila Jaimon

I completely understand you and as well as others being anxious about the interview questions. I had my interview for the current fall 2020, the questions they asked me “what do you think Monroe can do for your future?”, “why do want to be a nurse?”, “what are the most important things you do as a nurse?”. They might different questions but I promise you it will be general questions about “why you want to become a nurse?”

If you need to, practice in the mirror (which I did) or write down your answers a few days before hand...but Just remember to take your time and be yourself... YOU GOT THIS!!

let us know how you did!

Good luck to all of you xoxo

Please the TEAS exam was it similar to the practice assessment B questions. Thanks.

@Joyonelittle thank you so much for all the information. Also I wanted to ask, how long will the interview be? And after we finish the interview, within how many days will we know that if we got accepted or not? Cause this is the only college I have applied to and I really want to get in.

Go on the ATI TEAS facebook group. It was the same format if you did good with that(Practice B), you should be okay. Math use Brandon Craft (you tube) Reading it is reading passage English(similar to assessment) Science is Science(Use the assessment to study weak areas go on Youtube) good Luck. Time yourself like the real test.

When you say classes were picked for you is this specifically because of the transition to majority online classes due to Covid? In regular circumstances would you get a say in your schedule?

Classes are picked for us. We do not get to pick. This semester, I am taking two classes — fundamentals and Dosage calculations/pharmacology. The dosage and pharm are fused into one class but we have two separate professors for each. My schedule is lecture classes Monday 1-3 pm, Tuesday 9-11 am, Wednesday 1-3 and 3:30-4:30. Clinicals are Thursday and Friday 8-3:30 pm. But beware you will spend hours on end trying to prepare for lectures, clinicals, all while trying to hand in assignments on their due dates. It’s a lot to keep up with, but again time management is key.

good luck with your interview. I’d suggest preparing some generic answers beforehand so you’re prepared for the questions they may ask. Youtube helped me a lot with that!

Classes are picked for us regardless of COVID. Before covid, the entire nursing class would take classes together and have clinical together. But this year we were split up due to covid. Generally we’d take the same classes together. This semester all classes are virtual except one day of clinical.
