I recently got accepted to Monroe College for the fall 2020 nursing program, I haven’t seen recent reviews about the school and I want to make sure I’m making the right decision. Has anyone attended the school, or graduated?
Im not looking to put all my eggs into one basket so I’m still applying for other schools as well.
Thank you :)
@flashyruth Don’t worry, you will be fine. If you are really interested and passionate to be a nurse, you will definitely find a way to do better in TEAS. For the preparation of TEAS, I used ATI TEAS study guide, that book has covered pretty much everything. I also did a practice question through various online websites. Math is pretty much the basic. Practice little more, you will be fine. And you don’t have too much questions on Chemistry as far as I remember. And out of all, don’t rush to take in the test. Prepare yourself, take the test whenever you’re ready.
Hi Guys! Congratulations on your nursing school journey?
Can any of you share any insight of what the program is like.. Also are any of you still working, and what are the expected passing nursing core grades?
How are the exams/quizzes, would you say they're structured according to what was taught, and are the Professors respectful/approachable?
Sorry for the laundry list of questions, just trying to see if it is a school I want to truly apply to.
TIA
Hi! I’m in the fall 2020 nursing program at Monroe. So far everything is going pretty good. My grades are up to par but honestly things are very different and have been changed due to Covid. We have all lectures virtual, one day of virtual clinical and one day of in person clinical. This was the first full semester where everything was online so it has also been an adjustment for all professors and staff. We are all still trying to work out kinks here and there as far as assignments, tests and other things go. I’d say they are being a *little* more lenient than usual. But take that with a grain of salt. This program is very intense, there is always something to be done. I personally am not working right now and honestly probably couldn’t handle working. But I’m sure it’s possible. You’ll just have to make sure you’re very good with time management. Professors here are mostly very nice and understanding. My experience has been very good overall so far.
@Nursingbsn thank you so much for sharing. If you don’t mind, Can you please share the class schedule? Like is it in the morning or afternoon? And how many classes are you taking this semester?

Classes are picked for us. We do not get to pick. This semester, I am taking two classes — fundamentals and Dosage calculations/pharmacology. The dosage and pharm are fused into one class but we have two separate professors for each. My schedule is lecture classes Monday 1-3 pm, Tuesday 9-11 am, Wednesday 1-3 and 3:30-4:30. Clinicals are Thursday and Friday 8-3:30 pm. But beware you will spend hours on end trying to prepare for lectures, clinicals, all while trying to hand in assignments on their due dates. It’s a lot to keep up with, but again time management is key.
good luck with your interview. I’d suggest preparing some generic answers beforehand so you’re prepared for the questions they may ask. Youtube helped me a lot with that!

Just got the message from my advisor that it will be virtual. The information is just not sent out yet.
