Mohawk RPN January 2015?

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi!

i applied for January intake of Mohawk RPN program. I'm waiting to hear from admissions.

I was told I would hear back by the end of august but that is not the case. So I'm wondering when you guys heard back from there and when I can expect to hear back?

In high school I took uni courses so I added 10% for college. I have an 87.6% average.

For my hoae I got:

aa 56/75 84.46 normalized

ns 45/60 67.87

rc 30/35 45.25

sp 38/45 57.31

via 69/90 104.71

im just wondering what grades they look for competitively and I don't really know how to read my hoae results. thanks for your help in advance!

Any help is appreciated!!!

Anyone know what kind of Mask we're supposed to use for Mask fit testing? I'm on the website for the company i'm trying to book with and it says I have to choose between 3M 8110s, 3M 8210, 3M 1860s, 3M 1860, 3M 9210+, 3M 1870+ . I called placement services but they didn't know what I was talking about. Called the program manager but I don't know if she's there at this point, it's the holidays. Help :(

BTW is anyone in Toronto and can suggest a place to get mask fit done? It was so hard to find one and I'm not even 100% sure if it's the right test.

Philvane, the mask fit is supposed to determine which one of those masks you will need. I did mine through Mohawk just over a month ago. Everyone was tested for the same mask. Anyone who did not fit that mask then had to continue trying on other types of masks until they found one that did work. I am not sure why the company you are using would want you to pick just one mask to fit because that would defeat the whole purpose of finding the right mask for you.

Pre placement services did not really know what I was talking about either when I called them about the mask fit and CPR. The woman who first helped me didn't seem to understand me and her English was very bad. I ended up calling back several times at a later date until I talked with someone else who knew more.

If you go to the Mohawk continuing education site and select register online, you can select mask fit and it comes up with a whole list of dates at the start of January.

Hope this helps! Merry Christmas =)

Thanks a lot. When I was initially looking, they didn't have any January dates for Mask Fit at Mohawk, but now it's there :) I will be doing it there for sure.

Happy holidays :)

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering where everyone is from. I am from St. Catharines and I am moving to Hamilton later this week. While I am being very selective about what I bring along with me, I still feel like I have way too much stuff to move!

I'm from Toronto, moving to Hamilton next Saturday.

Not one thing has been packed at this point:roflmao: I have way too much stuff too, but I'm just leaving most of it at my mom's house. Only bringing essentials for now. I really don't want to do another big move - just moved to this house in May

I'm from Oakville moving to Hamilton very soon.

I'm from hamilton

Has anyone else handed everything in? I finished last month and finally received my actual CPR card so I can submit that. Also has anyone else receive their bus pass and insurance cards yet? I think the September start is more organized than the january start because I have nothing and there is no info on this stuff but when I was supposed to start in September I had all of this at the beginning of august. Doesn't make sense.

I'm not done all the e-learning certificates, I got bored halfway through workplace violence and then was busy moving and still am. I think (hope) that's the last one. Lol. I have Mask fitting today.

Haven't received a bus pass or insurance card. I don't think it's an actual pass though, just a sticker which you put on your student card. However I have no idea where we're supposed to get that. When I was at one of the open houses in Oct or Nov I asked one of the student union people about the insurance and she said it was already activated. But there was a date in January listed on the pamphlet, and as far as I know we don't have any info on policy/certificate numbers or how to claim, so...not sure what's happening with that

Hopefully all questions answered at orientation tomorrow. It's 6 hours long, they've got to have a lot of information for us.

There's more info here about the health/dental plan: Home

You should be able to pick up your bus sticker at the IHAS info desk.

Good luck at orientation tomorrow! It's an overload of information but exciting to get started.

I started in September and have to say that the majority of the program is not well organized. Unfortunately you just have to roll with it.

You can get your bus sticker at the square in iahs. You can pick up your one card there as well. (Bus sticker goes on the one card) I picked up both today.
