Mohawk RPN January 2015?

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi!

i applied for January intake of Mohawk RPN program. I'm waiting to hear from admissions.

I was told I would hear back by the end of august but that is not the case. So I'm wondering when you guys heard back from there and when I can expect to hear back?

In high school I took uni courses so I added 10% for college. I have an 87.6% average.

For my hoae I got:

aa 56/75 84.46 normalized

ns 45/60 67.87

rc 30/35 45.25

sp 38/45 57.31

via 69/90 104.71

im just wondering what grades they look for competitively and I don't really know how to read my hoae results. thanks for your help in advance!

Any help is appreciated!!!

No, you do not need to do First Aid. All you need is CPR (must be at the HCP/health care provider level). I did mine at St. John's in Burlington and it takes just 4 hours. Very simple.

I still have to do mask fit. I think I found a place to do it, but I'm holding off until my contract ends at work, on the 19th. I've already lost way too many paid hours due to doctor's appointments and having to travel to Hamilton for stuff.

Funny enough I spent an entire weekend (and like $125) doing First Aid because pre-placement services never responded to my email, and I couldn't get hold of them over the phone. Figured better safe than sorry. O well lesson learned :)

Oh for the other new people, check your Mocomotion email, we got one from the program coordinator about orientation. Funny enough every single person (presumably all the 1st years) in the program is listed, she must have forgotten to BCC :geek: heh

You might want to double check that the CPR you took is acceptable. There are a few differences with the HCP level one. My class was a mixed group of different levels and we often branched off to complete specific requirements. Just a recommendation.

Great I did the CPR last weekend. Thank you for the wonderful info! I will look into buying books now and I think I will go with the online bundle.

I did CPR HCP and First Aid but you know what I'll still try to get in touch with pre-placement anyway and double check. Thanks

Sounds good. As long as you did CPR HCP you're good to go!

Has anyone else started buying books? Does anyone know if "AC: NSO 3.0 FOR CANADIAN FUNDAMENTALS OF NURSING" is included along with the Canadian Fundamentals of Nursing textbook or if it's a separate thing to buy? I'm trying to buy everything in advance on amazon but a bit confused here

That is just the online modules. The book and NSO online is "Canadian Fundamentals of Nursing + Nursing Skills Online 3.0 Package, 5e"

Hi Julles,

Did you just get your books from bookstore? Or are there other places, other than amazon that might have them cheaper? This may have been answered earlier, so if so I apologize. I saw some on amazon that werent that much cheaper and I dont think they would have the downloadable versions.

Thanks!

Aliciap5, I bought the digital bundle at the McMaster HS bookstore for about 40% less than the hard copies.

Awesome thank you. Looks like that is what I will do.

Hello everyone! I have also been accepted for the January start for the RPN program at Mohawk.

My jaw dropped when I saw the cost of all the books we need... to think that I thought my university textbooks cost a lot!
