World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi!

i applied for January intake of Mohawk RPN program. I'm waiting to hear from admissions.

I was told I would hear back by the end of august but that is not the case. So I'm wondering when you guys heard back from there and when I can expect to hear back?

In high school I took uni courses so I added 10% for college. I have an 87.6% average.

For my hoae I got:

aa 56/75 84.46 normalized

ns 45/60 67.87

rc 30/35 45.25

sp 38/45 57.31

via 69/90 104.71

im just wondering what grades they look for competitively and I don't really know how to read my hoae results. thanks for your help in advance!

Any help is appreciated!!!

I'm so happy to know there more people in this program since I'm always looking for them! But yay! I picked my timetable today and picked block b! I guess I'll be seeing you guys really soon!! :)

Hi!

I have a question about the books. Do all of them have to be the latest edition or do the profs not mind?

Hi!

I have a question about the books. Do all of them have to be the latest edition or do the profs not mind?

When I was in university it didn't matter unless it was a custom text put together by the professor, brand new edition textbooks were known as a cash grab. Professors didn't care unless it was a custom text, like I said. Most of my books were old editions or International editions I grabbed off Amazon, ebay, Abebooks etc. or any other online bookstore, rather than going straight to the campus bookstore. However maybe it's different in college. Have you seen our textbook list, do you have a link? I don't intend to buy anything yet, but just out of curiosity.

This is our booklist for the winter semester:

Currently, I'm just looking around to buy books relatively new editions from people. I don't intend on buying a single one at the mac bookstore.

When I went to college the first time we had to buy the current addition. It didn't have to be brand new, it could be used and have highlights all throughout! But it had to be whatever addition was listed as things are added, edited, enhanced, or changed with each copy. I know....it sucks :( Our book list is around $1200!

Sorry guys, with two weeks left to go, we are crazy busy right now. Looks like you figured out that there are time keepers on your schedules. No weekend classes of course. 1st day of the program you will be told when your lab time is (you know the day from looking at your schedule). You will also find out what day your clinical is (right now it's a possibility between two days, as shown on your schedule).

Just my two cents about textbooks. Keep in mind that I initially thought I was a "love the hard copy and would never go digital" kind of a person. However, I really really like the online/digital versions. First of all, they are nearly half the price of the hard copies. Not to mention that many classes have information packages to complete, in which you are literally copying and pasting answers from the text into the workbooks/packages. It's super convenient. You can take them anywhere. Have them on your desktop, or your smart phone, etc. The search feature is super easy to use and very convenient. I'm not trying to sway anyone, but in my opinion there are clear benefits to the digital versions. I bought the paper versions and returned them all first day of classes. Very happy with that decision. Just one of many opinions of course ;)

Forgot to mention - the nursing bible aka Fundamentals of Nursing aka Perry & Potter weighs a tonne!

Thanks for answering julles. Best of luck :)

Looks like we are in the same block!

Where can you get the online versions? Is that also through the bookstore website? Also, if we have a Keep Open day on the first day of class, how do we know where to go to get info on the clinicals, labs etc?

I'm 99% positive we find out the first day at orientation. So Tuesday, January 6th! The orientation schedule isn't posted yet though :(
