I am a freshman nursing student and in my A and P class we have to learn the 12 cranial nerves. I know that there are a couple little sayings out there to help remember them but I do not remember all of the one I heard before. I know the one was a little sick, but I don't care if it helps me to remember them. I would be very appreciative if someone would reply in the forum or in email if anyone knows what I am talking about or where I could find the sayings.

Thank you very much.

Here's the one I learned... Not as much fun as the others posted! -- but it worked

for me because I always picture the old guy studying a math book....

Old Opie Occasionally Tries Trigonometry and Feels Very Gloomy Vague and Hypoactive.

Anyone got any cool ideas for remembering the names and functions of the cranial nerves???

There is one... over olympus mountain tops a fin and german viewed some hops...someone help me here it's been a while.... I know there is another one for function....

help?

Oh, Oh, Oh, to touch and feel very fine velvet, ah heaven!

The good thing about this one is more than just the first letter corresponds to the cranial nerve (in most cases!)

You can try singing them to "The Twelve Days of Christmas." That creeped my husband out and he had to ask me to sop singing "...ten vagus, nine glossopharyngeal, eight vestibulocochlear..."

Oh my gosh, that's so funny! On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.... :clown:

You guys are awesome - I've been printing out these ditties and am hanging them all over my house (even the back of the bathroom door! lol). And I love the 12 Days of Christmas idea too....thanks heaps for all of these!

Our anatomy instructor told us these:

Oh, oh Oh, to touch and feel very green vegetables, such happiness.

And for the functions:

Hi - this is the first time I am posting here. I could really use some help, I'm studying for my final exam in A & P 1 and was wonder if anyone new the mnemonics for the cranial nerves. I think it goes something like (oh, oh, oh, to touch .......) I heard it before but never thought I would need it but now I wish I had written down. I hope someone out there knows what I am talking about.
