Hey all,
While looking at information for the Modesto Junior College RN program I came across an awesome thread on here for the 2018 application period. It was great to read through and see how much they motivated each other. It gives us an opportunity to stress together and bond while waiting to see if we get in. I am hoping to make a successful thread for those of us ready to apply in May.
Best of luck to all

Right here..My email states we have to wait until October 1,2019 until the official acceptance letter, then orientation, and we will start taking classes in January. I want to go to class already and start learning haha
Such a long wait but still grateful!

I know but I am very grateful to have made it this far. I may have to take a language class or pick up more work.

The bridge program offered by MJC makes it more attractive to me... I can only imagine that the only reason why this wouldn’t be a deciding factor is if you were not planning on continuing your education after earning your adn.
The bridge program only lets a certain amount of people in and then the rest have to pay the full price. You're saving only two class if you do it and you can still bridge from other RN programs.
They have more opportunity because they have more clinical sites.

We can agree to disagree! My opinion about the programs that “only let a certain amount of people in” is that someone has to take the seat, it might as well be me. Lol
No matter what choice is made between MJC vs. Delta, there is no wrong answer.
Congratulations to all! ?

More opportunity isn't better than a better opportunity. I'll stick up for MJC; from what I have extensively researched, they are by far the superior nursing program.
Any difference between Initially Accepted and Accepted? From what I have found out Fall start people have "accepted" written as the current status of their applications, while Spring start people have "initially accepted" as their application status. Does anyone know why there's a difference?

I think it just says initially accepted because Spring semester starts later, in January, so it's further away than Fall, which is in upcoming August.
I would not worry too much over it. It seems like a minor technicality. You were accepted for Spring; that is the important thing.
Also, perhaps because you did not actually sign the intent to enroll form yet.
I was accepted to both Merced for the Fall and MJC for the Spring and am undecided. I live in Modesto and would prefer to start in the fall. I already had my orientation at Merced and I really like the program. So, I am leaning more towards Merced but I am not looking forward to the commute. However, my husband prefers I wait until Spring so that I don't have to commute and so that I'll have more time for him and our kids. What would you guys do?

I would personally want to start sooner than later, so I would pick Fall.

Oh man, that’s a tough one. There’s no wrong answer here... ???♀️
I would go with Merced, just because you already accepted the fact that you would be commuting. BUT MJC is in your town. Hmmm. I don’t know, girl. Good luck and congratulations!
