I am finishing up my pre-nursing classes and getting ready to apply for nursing school. Im terified that I won't be allowed to enter their program because of a 15 year old Class C Felony for stealing. I am attending Maryville university. Does anyone know if they will take me?

I don't know if they'd disallow you from the program, but I'm not entirely clear how much trouble you would run in to while applying for a license to practice. Start working now on finding all court documents, proof of rehabilitation, maybe write an exemplar on what a different person you are now, etc. The burden of proof lies with you to prove to the board of nursing that you are not the person who committed the felony however long ago.

These are not going to be questions we can answer. Best bet is to contact a lawyer who is experienced in administrative law.

Call the schools you are trying to get into and call the MO state Board of nursing. They would be your best bet in finding the info you need. Good Luck!!! FYI: I work here in MO and I worked with a nurse who stole enough drug that it counted as a felony against him. He got his license reinstated. Can't believe they would deny you entrance to school or to get a license. BUT what do I know?...Right?

The hard part is trying to get into a school I have talked to the board and they said it is a case by case basis you need to apply for a form I cannot remember the name of it that allows u to work at hospitals and nursing facilities its given out by the state and if u have that letter it holds a lot of weight because its given out by the state and a board has to review it and that is a good step apply to a school where they do their clinicals at BJC because I know they accept this letter and hire A LOT of people with it...GOOD LUCK and BEST WISHES

You might consult with a criminal attorney. It is possible to petition the court and get your record expunged. It would be easier to apply to both school and for licensure with a clean slate.
