I was in open lab practicing things from my lab the day before. I was talking to a classmate and I mentioned the word larynx but I pronounced it wrong. It's a new word for me so I'm not going to be perfect at pronouncing it. The professor there noticed I pronounced it wrong and corrected me. Then he went on to give me an example of if I were a nurse and he brought his kid to me and I mispronounced a word to him I would be little less of a nurse. In the sense that I was not as competent as a nurse who could pronounced words correctly. He understood that it shouldn't make you less of a nurse but to him it does. I know it's just his opinion and opinions are like mouths everyone has one. I just didn't like the comment nor did I expect this from him. What do you guys think?
I used to type everything out in texting, but I have teenage daughters and have learned their dialect. Texting is a wonderful tool for the mother of two teenage girls. Since I love them so much, I adapted.
it's funny...
that my kids never want to talk to me on the phone:
but we text ea other all the time.
rather than call me, they'll text me...
for anything and everything.
and fs, i adapted too, for the very same reasons.:redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redpinkhe

Given the horrible limitations of the cell-phone keypad, I can understand why people who text use "texting language."
What I never got was the appeal of texting itself. I'm an old dinosaur and need the full QWERTY keyboard to express myself on screen.
Plus, the whole 15 cents a message to send AND receive a text message, whether you want it or not, kind of killed any enthusiasm I had for texting... especially after my wife's 15 y/o daughter ran up a $650 cell-phone bill for texting.
I get frustrated when it's more than 3 lines and just call someone LOL, My son was very lucky he texted his "in" people when I saw a total of 4000 texts in a 3 week period. We pay a flat rate also, but I hate texting, I do it when I have to but I hate it.
I'm with you. My kids call me about 3 times a week each. My oldest loves to chat while he is sitting in traffic on the So. Cal freeways. Great time to catch up. He has a new girlfriend too so that is nice to hear about.
We are just big talkers in our family. You should see our family sitting around the dinner table - it is fun.
My youngest (he is 7) has started sending text messages to all his siblings from mom and dad's phones. They love it because you never know what he is gonna say.

All right, word usage stickler.Don't make me pluck OUT my eyeballs and throw them @ U 2!
Boy, you try to have a little hissy fit, and somebody has to haul out the editing pencil. Totally deflates the drama. Thanks a lot!
I'll join you in the little hissy fit . . . . get ready to catch my eyeballs . ..

Hey, I just took a medical terms class, but I'm not in nursing school yet. As far as Latin and Greek go, you are saying it right! (eh mee' sis)
