MiraCosta / MSJC Spring 2021 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys!

I just wanted to make a thread for everyone who has applied for the Spring 2021 ADN programs down here in Socal!

I am applying for both MiraCosta and MSJC since Palomar canceled their Spring ADN application window.

Notifications will be out within 2 months at the end of October, good luck everyone!

I applied to MiraCosta and will be applying to MSJC too in a couple days. I'm excited and nervous, and good luck to you too! Do you have a preferred school?

Thanks for creating this feed! I applied at MC as well and MSJC next week! Good luck!

Definitely MiraCosta. They have a really good reputation for their nursing program. It's more competitive to get into though and I need to stay realistic, which is why I'm applying to both ? From NCLEX pass rates MSJC doesn't seem far behind though, its a really good second choice.

What about you? Is there one you are hoping to get into more than the other?

Of course! Are those the only two you are applying for? Wishing you good luck ??

Yes. I live too far away to apply to other SD or Riverside schools. I can't be commuting over an hour each way. If it doesn't work out for me at either of those for Spring 21, I'll reapply and include Palomar when they open up next semester of 2021. I'm thinking they are both going to get a lot of apps this time due to Palomar not accepting any this time around. Hoping for the best!

Found another feed for MC 2021 as well.. see below

Specializes in Undecided, but possibly rehab nursing!.

Thanks for posting this link @JennyJeanne to my thread I started the other day. I’ll definitely be following this one ? and delete mine. OK, so I’m only applying to MiraCosta (I have to stay local) and just dropped my application off last Monday! Good luck everyone and hang in there! I’m just returning from being burnt out bc I was trying to get into either CSUSM traditional or accelerated. Didn’t make the cut. Looks like I have a better chance at MCC but may need to retake my micro to raise it from a B to an A. That would get me to the 93/94 point range. I’m OK with retaking it, I’ll do it through National if need be (that way I can reapply by Feb for the next cohort). Hopefully I get in this Spring though!

I'm in the same exact boat. Everywhere else is too far so those are the only two I could reasonably apply for. I was super disappointed when I found out Palomar wasn't going to be an option, it was definitely a good backup and (I believe) is supposed to be the least competitive of all the schools. But Fall 2021 applications should be a lot easier if worst comes to worst, especially since they'll take more people too

Yes, I have heard those same things about Palomar. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason... it will all work out eventually for all of us just the way it's supposed to... even if it's not for Spring 2021 as we are hoping for. I am thankful that I have a good job and can continue working and pick up OT until the next application period if needed.

Ahh I tried to search for other threads about this topic before creating my own, I'm sorry if I had made mine after yours! But welcome ?

I think I have about 93 points on my application for MiraCosta. I saw in a thread on here that someone with 89 points didn't get accepted to their Fall 2020 program so I'm scared it'll be even worse for Spring 2021. It's crazy how competitive it is.

I've heard how good MiraCosta's program is and it would be nice to move out there but I live closer to MSJC. I also applied to RCC and that's mainly my first choice.
