MiraCosta Nursing Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I want to create a thread to anyone who has applied to the ADN Nursing Program for Fall 2020 at MiraCosta.

The application window is still open until the end of February and we wont find out until April, so lets share some words of encouragement and create a community.

I just turned in my application on Monday, February 10. It makes me anxious that they don't tell you your points when you submit your application...

Hi! I mailed in my application at the end of January, I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't think of sending it certified - now I'm doubly anxious, what if they didn't get it?
Anyways, did you estimate your points?

Best of luck!

Are they able to confirm via telephone? I'm sure they got it!

I estimated my points around 91-92. The only issue is I don't have my AA and I am using my PSYC class that I took years ago (I got a C) so that bumped down my points. I'm taking SOC this semester and I will have my AA by the end of Spring. Hopefully I'll be more competitive for the next application.

How many points are you estimating?

I wouldn't want to bother them as they probably received so many already. My bad for not opting for certified hah.

91-92 is competitive! Looking back at past cohort acceptance, they've got down to 89-91 depending on the cohort. I think I have 94 points with MCC. Nursing programs are all slightly different in how they attribute their points. I got in at City with about 92 points there.

That's awesome!!!! 94 is very competitive; I'm hoping for 94 points for the following application term. Congrats on getting into City. Are you planning on accepting or waiting for other options?

Thanks! They give you a very narrow window to accept or reject the offer. So I accepted, thinking I can retract if I get into my first choice, Mira Costa ?

That's a great plan. Let's hope for the best! That would be great if we both get in ?

Really competitive points! I think I should have about 89-90 points.. definitely a reach for me.

I was wondering if anyone had already called the nursing program to see if they are still able to look at applications right now? Have you heard anything about the current cohorts clinicals?

I tried calling them but there was no response. I emailed Mallory with a few questions and got a brief response a few days ago. I'm sure she is very busy right now. What I got from the email is that they are taking it day by day and she is still expecting to send out the notifications in early April. I am not sure about the current cohorts and if their clinicals are affected. I really hope not. I know a few people who are in the program right now; I'm going to ask around and see if I can find any info.

I really really hope so. It would be great to hear soon, I figured the date would get pushed back which would of course be understandable. Thanks for your response! If you do hear anything, please post here haha I'm dying to know how they have handled things.
