Hey there! I am creating this thread for all applicants to Mira Costa and Palomar for the Spring 2018 semester. Hopefully we can cheer each other on and take some of the waiting anxiety away together. My scores were somewhere between 78-84 points with a teas score of 78.6%. As you can see, VERY average. Can anyone enlighten me on the difference between Palomar, Mira Costa, and Grossmont? Grossmont does currently have its own page, but the more informative sources the better! Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Mine is about 70 so hoping I get in as an alternate..although I messaged San Diego city college about their program and they basically said 70 at their school
Is competitive so if I don't get into palomar this semester I'll apply to grossmont, palomar, San Diego city, and southwestern for next semester. I have a BA, low science gpa 2.9, 3.6 other gpa , 80 for teas, and some life points!
This has been a rather grueling process! My points are in the middle and thus I wont be super competitive...Ill get into a program somewhere eventually even if its not Palamar for Spring...Anyone can and will as I believe it will ultimately be a function of effort and determination. It may mean finding a farther, less competitive program. This also does not make anyone less of a nurse as your ability to pursue for yourself is a reflection of your ability to pursue and advocate for ultimately your patients in a sometimes not so ideal hospital environment. Push on folks, it is a rewarding and lucrative career...not suppose to easy. Brutal wait though...keep checking that darn email...aye!
enurse31- I totally agree. I'd be really excited to get in, but if I don't it's not the end of the world. Everyone's on their own time clock! If I don't get in, I'm just going to wait until I move back home to do a RN program. It's much easier to get in on the east coast and it takes the same amount of time to get a BSN out there as it does to get an ADN here.
yep, San Diego...America's finest city but obviously very competive in this department. I don't think the point grid is the end all be all of intellect and ability to be a great nurse...and if we do get in? turn the page on the next phase of challenges and anxieties...lol...keep on pushing though I suppose.
