  1. i just turned down my spot and am attending another program...good luck, don't give up...persist, this is one program among hundreds...1,869 total as of 2014 stats!
  2. i would guess we wont hear till maybe friday depending on whether those invited on monday have respond by thursday and spots are full if that makes sense. Probably a third round will go out if those notified monday dont accept. It also may be less about particular days and more about incoming and outgoing individual responses. Id guess it would be wrapped up before break. Out of my control so I laugh to keep from crying so to speak! I would say anyone in the 70 to even high 60 something range can get into a school somewhere other then sd if willing to commit a couple years somewhere else. Im not giving up but the timing isnt going to be what I hoped for at this point! Im frustrated but clearly not alone. There was a time not long ago when it was purely a wait list! That was really tough to get on and sit around waiting a year or two but now for us in this middle range that wait list concept seems more ideal then getting hedged out by a point or two perhaps on issues that have no bearing on actual nursing skills. Life aint fair I guess!
  3. aww 77 hurts now...here is to next year and other programs...frustrating!! think ill have to move near a community college in tornado country or maybe go to Alaska, perhaps those expensive schools will take me and i'll be paying loans till I die...those that got in congrats and appreciate it!
  4. anybody hoping for a second round invite hear anything yet??
  5. ...only the gender neutral bathroom is available
  6. Thanks to that person for the info..nice of you. Tropical, I feel I will be in your position as someone who may have to apply again...it sucks but I can tell you I work with nurses who had been turned away and had to reapply the next year etc...it happens and seems ill be in that category. I am considering back up plans, San Diego is a tougher and more competitive area so for someone like me who will have mid 70 points I may be stuck looking elsewhere. I feel ya though as it is a drag to have to go through literally years of classes and applications. Its a life long career though so the investment does pay off.
  7. its like crickets are chirping...i havent heard anything!
  8. Those whom are accepted, congrats!...I think no news at this point is not good news so I can only wonder when your deadline for accepting the invite to the program falls? Perhaps some more spots open up and another round of emails will go out after they get those responses from people choosing elsewhere...
  9. yep, San Diego...America's finest city but obviously very competive in this department. I don't think the point grid is the end all be all of intellect and ability to be a great nurse...and if we do get in? turn the page on the next phase of challenges and anxieties...lol...keep on pushing though I suppose.
  10. This has been a rather grueling process! My points are in the middle and thus I wont be super competitive...Ill get into a program somewhere eventually even if its not Palamar for Spring...Anyone can and will as I believe it will ultimately be a function of effort and determination. It may mean finding a farther, less competitive program. This also does not make anyone less of a nurse as your ability to pursue for yourself is a reflection of your ability to pursue and advocate for ultimately your patients in a sometimes not so ideal hospital environment. Push on folks, it is a rewarding and lucrative career...not suppose to easy. Brutal wait though...keep checking that darn email...aye!
  11. Hi, Good luck getting into the program. Any idea as to when they will start sending out responses?
  12. This wait is brutal. I am seeing some are getting acceptances from Grossmont.
  13. any idea how many students get accepted to grossmonts program?
