Mira Costa Palomar spring 2018 ADN program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey there! I am creating this thread for all applicants to Mira Costa and Palomar for the Spring 2018 semester. Hopefully we can cheer each other on and take some of the waiting anxiety away together. My scores were somewhere between 78-84 points with a teas score of 78.6%. As you can see, VERY average. Can anyone enlighten me on the difference between Palomar, Mira Costa, and Grossmont? Grossmont does currently have its own page, but the more informative sources the better! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread but just now made an account to comment. What's everyone's point ranges for palomar?

I should be around the mid 80s

Hello all!

I am hoping today is the day. I think my points ranged from 76-82.

85% on my TEAS, 3.8 in Sciences, and 3.5 in GE classes, CNA, hospital experience, life points

I would seriously be stoked to even be an alternate so good luck everyone!

Hey guys! I'm looking to apply to Palomar for Fall 2018, I was wondering what their policy is on repeated courses? Can't seem to find anything on the site. Is it just one repeat allowed? Does a 'W' count as a repeat? Thanks!

izzydizzy- I believe you are allowed only one retake. Whether you had a W or went all the way through and received a grade, both scenarios are counted as retakes. I could be wrong, but this is my understanding.

My friend called Palomar today and they told her, "We need a couple more weeks." Which is just insane. I think we all need to call and put pressure on them because this isn't okay at this point. We have to rearrange our whole lives to accommodate the demands of nursing school, which is fine, but we have to know in order to make those arrangements.

Wow... a couple of more weeks?

Just kidding! I just called 2 seconds ago and she said they will have notifications out by the end of the week!!!!

EDIT: DAMNIT, you got me. Got me really good haha.

That's out of control.

They have no incentive to send out invites quickly. They're drowning in applications, if one, or ten, or a hundred go somewhere else they still have a full cohort.

It'd almost be better if they just said Dec 1 they send out emails. That way people aren't smashing f5 on their email all day.

I agree, if they had just given themselves a deadline it would go more smoothly for everyone.

I'm so confused í ½í¸‚í ½í¸ haha. So let's hope Friday or earlier!

So did they tell your friend a different answer? Or were you kidding? Lol

My friend called this morning (she also applied to the same cohort) and Joan told her a couple more weeks. I called a few hours later and Joan told me that they will be sent out by the end of the week. So whatever happened between those couple of hours, who knows lol but that's the latest info

Sorry for all the confusion!

PS- I don't know you all well enough to play with your emotions like that lol so sorry again for freaking you all out!
