Mira Costa Palomar spring 2018 ADN program

Hey there! I am creating this thread for all applicants to Mira Costa and Palomar for the Spring 2018 semester. Hopefully we can cheer each other on and take some of the waiting anxiety away together. My scores were somewhere between 78-84 points with a teas score of 78.6%. As you can see, VERY average. Can anyone enlighten me on the difference between Palomar, Mira Costa, and Grossmont? Grossmont does currently have its own page, but the more informative sources the better! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Hey guys! Been following this thread for like 2-3 months now and finally decided to make an account. lol So This is my second time applying for Palomar's ADN program and I also applied for Grossmont's fall 2018 cohort. I did not make it into Grossmont. I had high hopes as I've heard they're not as competitive as Palomar. I should have had 72 points with Grossmont and 74 with Palomar this cohort. I have all As in my sciences and have volunteers hours, my associates, and my phlebotomy license. I even took three classes in Spanish to up myself 3 points. I could have been very competitive but did terrible on my TEAs test as I only studied for a day. I unfortunately rushed and did not realize I couldn't retake the test if I didn't get the score I desired. I actually wish I would have failed so I could have retaken my test.

The way Palomar did it spring cohort was they first sent out all of the acceptance letters. Once everyone accepted, then they sent out the decline emails. Now last cohort was crazy competitive and everyone accepted their seats so I received my decline email 3 days later, which is the time the people who got accepted have to accept their spot by. If people start giving up their seats then the process is going to take a bit longer as they will start sending out alternates. Long story short, decline emails are the last emails to be sent out. In my decline email I was told that if your points aren't in the mid to upper 70s, don't even apply because of how competitive palomar is getting. However I have also been told that you never know how many people are going to apply to a cohort or what their points are so just put in your packets any ways. Don't want to bum anyone out as I have felt very discouraged so far with my points and experience this year. All we can do is keep pushing and trying until someone accepts us. Best of luck to everyone! I really hope we all get accepted!

Has anyone received any emails today? I'm starting to get frustrated and I know I shouldn't even worry until next week but I'M HUMAN LOL

The schools are closed today for observance of Veteran's Day so I doubt any more emails will be sent out until Monday!

Hi there! I was accepted to Miracosta and Palomar and just declined my spot for Palomar. I know of two other students who attended the Miracosta orientation and are also declining their Palomar spots. So hopefully those of you waiting to hear get good news on Monday or Tuesday. Crossing my fingers! Good luck to everyone!! í ½í±í ¼í¿¼í ¾í´ží ¼í¿»í ½í²ª

Just checking to see if anyone received emails today?

Nope :(

Joan didn't even reply to my email I sent her. I'm getting frustrated. It went from end of October to middle of November.

Have you tried emailing Gail? Her email can be found on the PowerPoint on the website

Nope I'm assuming it will be tomorrow because the accepted have to give notice by today I believe so we'll probably get acceptance or decline letters tomorrow...I'm planning for decline í ½í¸

I emailed Gail, and she got back to me quickly.

I had 75 points total and did not get in. She said it wasn't an official email but told me what to expect when they send out emails... :(

Aww man! Well that means I didn't get in either! I'm sorry! Chin up! Did she say when to expect emails?

Aaa we.. Sorry to hear that. Hey at least they told you how many points you have.. MiraCosta doesn't do the same.
