Hi guys! Just creating this thread for all of my fellow applicants for Mira Costa and Palomar College's 2018 Fall RN program(s). I figured we could talk TEAS and points and see where we stand among each other as well as past cohorts.
Goodluck to everyone!!!! :)
Hello all!I just started my account here to be able to post that I was accepted into the fall 2018 ADN program at Palomar!
I wasn't accepted at MiraCosta, I didn't have enough points. I have a previous Bachelor degree, CNA license, 91.3% TEAS score, 4.0 in sciences, 3.9 in core, for 85ish total points.
I am very excited!
Looking forward to connecting with some of my fellow cohort members leading up to the start of school.
Cheers!
Congrats, i did not make it to MCC either =( , but i am excited for Palomar, see you at orientation =)

Oh hey there, fellow cohort member! Looks like will be getting to know each other pretty well over the next couple years! This is so exciting! I won't be looking forward to the drive from SD but it is what it is! haha.

i know i am super excited!! we are going to have a fun 2 years. ugghh yeah that drive is not going to be fun. i was accepted at a school in orange county last week and im glad palomar said yes . im only like 25 mins away in oceanside.
I don't know what I should do.. I haven't heard anything from Palomar yet (good or bad). I emailed yesterday asking if they were still in the process of emailing acceptance/declination letters to students, or if no response meant that I didn't get in, but I haven't received a response. I'm mostly confused because I calculated my points somewhere between 81-84 and I've noticed people with points in the 70's have already been accepted. Does anyone have advice on what I should do? :/

I also emailed two days ago and haven't gotten a response either. I was looking at threads from last year and saw multiple people had emailed regarding their application status and it seemed as if everyone got a response. I have calculated 78 pts and am seeing people with 79 pts get in so i really have no idea where i stand at this point. But you should def be on the top of the list! Im sure letters will be going out everyday though so lets stay as hopeful as possible!
Hi all! Does anybody know what happens when you accept a seat at Palomar? Are you not allowed to retract that if need be? I was accepted to Palomar and I am an alternate for MiraCosta. MiraCosta is my first choice but I don't want to lose my spot at Palomar if I end up not making it into Fall as an alternate for MCC.
Hello everyone! I still remember being as anxious (and as excited as you guys were when I was accepted) I am finishing up my second semester at Palomar college nursing program and to be honest, It is the most difficult, yet most enjoyable times of my life as a student. So my cohort started with 40 students (usually they accept 36-37) but my cohort had some of the most competitive score points ever so they made an exception. Just a tip, if you are an alternate, MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER ANY CALLS especially if it is a 760 area code (when someone who is accepted gives up the spot, they literally call everyone on the alternate list and who ever answers first would get that spot)
Good luck to you guys and let me know if you have any questions!!!

I think what they do is put a certain number of students on a waitlist, and give them the spots that are denied.
