  1. Thank you for telling me all of this:) Very helpful!
  2. Whenever I think I might be taking on more than I can handle, I remember a couple key things. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night, drink water instead of sugary liquids, do something to "get in the zone" for studying. To get in the zone sometimes I use lemongrass oil on my wrists (great smell), or I take a few deep breaths, or I go to my favorite spot in the library. Also it is VERY important to stay ahead of the material. Like prepare for the week ahead on the weekend! These are my tips, I hope they help!
  3. I purchased the online package from ATI and a friend gave me a year old paper copy of an ATI study manual. I remember things better if I am writing them out, the the paper copy helped me a lot (also good to have when you are on the go and have no wifi). It also helped me a lot to just have blank paper with me to draw systems or write out things I needed to remember.
  4. Hi again @Larocquh I got your PM but I am not able to reply (allnurses requires 15 posts before access to PM). Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out, I am so excited to start the program and what you told me about MCC sounds amazing! I like the smaller class size as well, the mentor program sounds great, and I love how many skills you have already learned in such a sort time! Unfortunately I had to decline my seat at Palomar, they made me choose by 4pm on Tuesday. I wanted to attend both orientations but oh well... I felt terrible about giving up my seat at Palomar because I am an alternate at MCC but I think it is for the best since I like MCC so much. I wish you the best in your coming semesters and I hope ill see you around!!
  5. Hi all! Does anybody know what happens when you accept a seat at Palomar? Are you not allowed to retract that if need be? I was accepted to Palomar and I am an alternate for MiraCosta. MiraCosta is my first choice but I don't want to lose my spot at Palomar if I end up not making it into Fall as an alternate for MCC.
  6. Hi @Larocquh I have been reading these posts for information. I was accepted as an alternate at MCC for Fall 2018 and recently accepted to Palomar's program for Fall 2018. If you have the time, I would love if you could tell me about your experience at MiraCosta. I want to for sure start in the Fall, and I have done pre-recs at MiraCosta.
  7. I attended SDSU 2012- 2013. The problem is I really don't have more classes to take. I have about 80 units at the community college. And I looked into some private institutions but many also have a minimum gpa requirement of 3.0 . I am thinking I am barely competitive for applying to community colleges for RN programs... I am also thinking I might have to go out of state?
  8. I am driven to get into a BSN program. Realistically I have a low chance of getting into a CSU, although I will be applying to CSUCI and CSUEB. The problem is my cumulative gpa is very low (~2.7) due to older SDSU transcripts. Most schools require a minimum of 3.0 cumulative gpa. Any suggestions for BSN programs? I was disqualified at SDSU after 3 semesters 4 years ago. Received a 1.29 gpa. I was naive and completely caught up in the social aspect of the school and this transcript haunts me. Now I have a 3.55 gpa at community college and I have completed micro, anatomy, physiology, and chem with all A's. I work for a chiropractor and have patient interaction, but it may or may not be considered health care work experience. Got 88.7% on the TEAS Volunteer in hospice patient care
