if you haven't noticed, we made some changes.

the goal is to make our main sections more visible to nurses and student nurses; hopefully, decreasing the amount of non-related posts that cross over to each other.

rename general tab to nurses

"general" makes it sound like it's open for everyone - probably attracting all newcomers

reorder tab navigation

reordering will help members get around. it will also make it easier to associate one section with another.

the new tab order...

remove last 24 hours link

last 24 hours link is obsolete. currently, you can find it under myaccount.

new posts renamed to what's new .

reorder forums

general nursing section reorder:

  3. nursing humor

students section reorder:

  1. pre-nursing student forum
  2. general nursing student discussions
  3. nursing student assistance

these steps are just the beginning of changes coming to allnurses.com

I prefer the Last 24 Hours thing. I don't like the What's New at all. I don't think that was a necessary or helpful change.

It is still there - under "My Account" at the very bottom.

I eventually found it, but just would like it to be where it used to be. It feels like I have less of an idea where a thread is going by just using What's New.

I prefer the Last 24 Hours thing. I don't like the What's New at all. I don't think that was a necessary or helpful change.

I agree. Now you have to be logged in and go through changes to get to 24 instead of just scrolling to the top of the page. I don't like What's New. If I'm not logged in, two maybe three, threads come up when I click What's New.

Only took me about 10 minutes looking at the Site Map and searching "last 24 hours" before I realized it is now called "What's New". The only possible advantage to that I can see is on a slow day the first 20 pages could have posts more than 24 hours old.

What's New is at the top of the page. Last 24 Hours was removed from the top of the page and put last on the list that appears when you click My Account. You can get the last 24 hours option but you have to work to get there. :confused:

I agree about the "What's New" option. On AN-Central, it often informs me that there are no new threads, but to "click here" for recent posts to existing threads. I don't like having to go thru 2 steps, when 1 used to do the job. I don't always log in, either. Sometimes I make a quick visit and then log in if there's something new I'd like to respond to.

I share my computer wth too many people to stay logged into any site :)

Me, too, when I am at home. When we're on the road, however, and parked in the middle of a field somewhere (don't laugh, we do it often) I can't do that...and time is everything!

Even at home, however, I don't like going through more work than before, and more work than is actually necessary. Plus on my computer, (maybe it's the screen size or something) I click on My Account, but have to THEN scroll down to even see the Last 24 Hours option, then click on that, so it's a three step process. And I really don't like that.

The only places I'm logged in are here at home or at work as I do not own a laptop. :crying2: If I did - I'd check allnurses all the time . . even in a field!

I do, of course, check in from the fields....but it is more of a nuisance now, with the new "improvement" ( which in most cases in most places is not an improvement at all, just something different.) :chair:
