military time vs real time in documentation

Published

in ltc does it matter if you document in military or real time, or does it vary depending on the facility?

We use the "big hand is on the 2 and the little hand is on the 6" method here!:lol2:

That takes too long to chart! :clown:

Well...this IS Cape Cod. We only just graduated from using sun dials!!!

I prefer 24hr time - but we had one "nurse" at our facility who was on a mission to get it banned d/t she couldn't grasp it -

Scary thought... she's the one who should be banned.

It doesn't matter what we prefer...it is what the facility protocol is for charting time. One place I work at uses 24 hr time the other doesn't.

I have to convert to 12 hr clock time, because I think in Military time.

The easiest way to use 24 hr time, is add 1200, to time from 1:00PM - 11:59PM.

We use normal time. 9am and 9pm... Actually when you are writing in a hurry. 9a and 9p.

When I am tired. My A's look like P's and P's look like D's lol

Same here, but it was an office manager. Whatever. She's the administrators daughter and what she wants she gets.

Perfectly demonstrating why the 24-hour clock should be used.

The 24 hour clock is normal time.
