Midwestern State University spring 2015 hopeful

Published

I have finally gotten everything situated with my classes and GPA to FINALLYYYY apply! I am sending in my application this week, just finished up my chem class with a B thank god. I have a 3.0 GPA for my prerequisites and about 60 to 63 points. What do you think my chances are for getting in? When I talked to my advisor she said if I got a B in chem then I should have no problem but my worrying self doesn't want to wait that long to see. And how long did it take for a response. Application deadline is August 15th. Any helpful advise would be appreciated!!

Yay! I got my blue card in the mail a few days ago! LOL I just stuck it in a folder, I didn't even bother asking so thanks for that! I'm so excited! I hope we get responses by next week! Does anyone know if they will send us emails as well as letters in the mail?

According to previous posts, I have read it says they notify by email and a letter! I hope at least by email so I can know immediately!

Has everyone got their shots?

I thought they would let us know which shots to get in the acceptance notification letter? Have you already been accepted??

I believe that we are to have all the shots done before we get in because alot of the shots require that you wait an alloted amount of days before taking the next dosage. The only reason I did an EMT program and the HEP B shots takes almost 3 months so If we have to have the shots done before we get in and we wait until the day of acceptance then you couldnt finish in time and they wouldnt allow you to come in. All that being said I dont know if the midwestern nursing program allows a grace period, however I am just being safe and getting my shots out of the way.

Yeah, they include the shots you are required to get completed in their acceptance letter and you need to get them completed before the first day of the semester. Did you find out the required shots from their website?

I believe that you do need to have them before the first day of class, also yes I did see it on the website. Just got to the wilson college of nursing page and on the bottom left hand side you should see the immunization pdf

I have all my shots. I applied to elcentro, uttyler and midwestern. Elcentro required all immunization done before the application deadline, and theirs is the same as midwestern so am done with all my shots.

My sister got in for spring 2014, they required her to have the shots but for hep B, they required her to have at least the first shot before the semester began since it takes 6 months to complete. They give u time for the hep B.

So should I just go get all my shots done now or wait for the acceptance? I just don't like needles so I just want to make sure I don't get them done until it's absolutely necessary since I would get the vaccination sheet the same day...

Okay well that's great to know, thanks :) I plan on doing them all in November (hopefully we'll get responses by then).

Yea u can go ahead and get started, varicella shot is 2, the second one is two months after the first one. MMR is two shot, a month after the first one. the TB takes 3days.
