Hey y'all, so I checked my msu account and noticed there's an advising hold on my account. Wanted to ask if this hold was for transfer orientation or from the nursing department itself if any of you know?

The hold is for orientation and has to be removed by a staff member in the nursing program. You will find out in nursing they work individually outside of what other students are required to do

After I officially accepted thru jeans I. took my orientation online and contacted Catherine who then released my hold

@lorr19 yeah the nursing department does work separately, so they have to remove the hold. I just emailed Catherine to see what needed to do to get the hold off, so hopefully she gets back to me soon. I told her I was doing the early orientation in the summer (I do not think we can do it online, I think that is just for people who start in spring) and I wanted to know if I could come meet with her earlier to get the hold off so I can register for my filler classes that I need before they fill up. So once she emails me back I will let yall know what she says. Hopefully we will get these letter in the mail today or tomorrow because I think that is how you officially accept the offer.

Hey everyone, Catherine emailed me back and she removed by advising hold today from my account so I can register for classes. I just emailed her and said that I was accepted to program, had done my fingerprints, and would be attending the early orientation in the summer for the school. Also I explained why I wanted the hold removed because I needed to register for my filler classes before they filled up. She removed the hold already and said that registration is closed until May 20th and will open up again May 21st, so I can register then. So everyone I would email her like I did, so you can register next week so all the good filler classes do not fill up and your stuck with classes you do not wont! I will be making my schedule over the weekend!

@keunnamonae thanks for the update I already emailed her, to please remove the advising hold as I would be going for advising aswell in the summer. When are you planning on going for the early advisement? Also what filler class you planning on taking?

@lorr19 I have scheduled my orientation for the July 23 date to go down for orientation and I guess for advising aswell. I have cheer practices in June so Ill probably go visit her then too just because to make sure I do not have to see her about anything else. She told me to register next week so that what I will be doing, so I dont think I have to go see her I think just have to go to the early orientations in summer. I am taking the intro computer class and I havent yet figured what other class I want to take. I wish I knew more people at MSU so they could tell what are so easy classes to take. Im thinking maybe a fine art or pe class idk. What about you?

@keunnamonae i think we still have to attend nursing orientation, after the transfer orientation we attend because we don't know when theres nursing advising scheduled for. Am thinking of taking a pe class just want an easy class. Hopefully she responds back tomorrow so i can register for the pe class. Have you gone to do the fingerprint?

@lorr19 Yeah the nursing orientation is different, from what I have read I think that is during the first week of school. Transfer orientation is where you get advised, that why they recommended transfer students attend certain date because they will send you to your college to get advised during transfer orientation from what I read about MORE. You have to wait until May 21st to register because registration is closed to everyone until that date. Yes I did my fingerprints yesterday.

@keunnamonae i see. i might go either ending of this month or next month so i know am done with everything and don't have to drive twice to Midwestern.
