I am a second semester RN student. Due to take HESI soooooon. I need to know what areas of focus should I study, How to study, what to expect? Is the HESI book really helpful? I purchased it. Please help me! Stressed !!!!:uhoh21:
Your welcome! Fake people learned very early on not to even try talking with me. I am a no nonsense opinionated person, they don't even dare!!! lol But, on the flip side if you are genuine I'll be the first one to help. I'm glad you passed- I hope I do to. What was your actual score? Or do you know. Ours are graded in 100's i.e 1155 or 1147, we have to get a 900 to pass.
i hope everyone knows that not all hesi exams are created equal. each instructor goes through a list of subject areas that you've covered in lecture, giving hesi that list, and then hesi creates the test from the subjects your instructors pick out. so, unless you all have the similar instructors, you probably won't have the same questions. just like to mention it.
I passed with 76%. Dont break your neck studying. It was mainly psych, ob, and postpartum, , Maybe 1 question on F&E, maybe 2 questions on dosage calculations. It was easy but the questions were so easy I overstudied. It was the stuff you wouldnt think to study. The answers had stupid rationales. Ill go thru my paper and write back with detailed info
are you sure you took a HESI test? They are far from easy questions!!! ANd you usually are not given a percentage score, you are given a number and a percentile ranking. 76% is typically not passing in RN school.
I been in RN school for a minute, I know what test I took. and the score ranges from 850-11?? and our school converts it into a percentage.
for a minute??? I'm assuming that is a typo. I just was surprised you found it easy. I have had 4 HESI tests and not one was easy in the least. and if you got 76% it must not have been too easy!! That is great (in some ways) that 70% is passing. Most schools it is 75% or more. Our school is 77%.
For a minute, wasnt a typo! meat I Have 1 year left aka 2 semesters.. because midcirricular HESI means MID point. In between. I guess to me being a mom of 3, and wife, yes a 76% was good considering my lifestyle. Our HESI was not determining our pass or fail, It was worth 20% of our grade. Which is why I felt I did good.
I also have remedial assignments this summer. Im not complaining. HESI was easy. Not meaning I aced it type of easy! The midcirricular was what I took and I found the questions like duH! because they were things we studied in 1st semester, we all focused to hard for it, I studied the hard stuff when the easy stuff was what we were tested on. Now end of the semestr HESI is what Im scared of because I heard thats hard. Is that what you took!
