Just wanted to Start a study group for spring semester .I thought it will also be fun to give pop questions for us to make up from our classes and answer to help us learn more. Hope to hear from u guys
Thanks Kimberly and BlueMalibu!I'm using the book "Microbiology: A Human Perspective" by Nester et al. I'm taking pre-reqs at Tacoma Community College in WA state. Where are you taking classes at?
I'm at Butte College in Northern Calif... about an hour north of Sacramento.
We're using Microbiology with Diseases by Taxonomy (Bauman)
We have gone over acid fast stains, gram +-, internal/external structures of Prokaryote-Bacteria, Eukaryotes, types of scanning microscopes, golden age of microbiology, etc.
Our first quiz is next Wed on 4 chapters. The chapter on internal/external structures of microorganisms, staining, etc is a bit overwhelming. I tape my professor's lectures and listen to them at work. This week, I am listening to 2hrs of lectures a day at work and 1 hour at home. It is about 6hrs of lectures for this test. I have also made tables summarizing the differences.
I am really trying to get an A out the gate but the exam is 100 questions and no extra credit. Ah well...lots of studying to do.
sorry i am coming in late to the game on this..
class started jan 12 - online. 16 week class. we are using tortora funke case's microbiology: an introduction. each unit is 2 weeks long and we usually cover 2-4 chapters per unit. unit 1 went over chapters 1, 3 and 4. we just started unit 2 on monday - chapters 5, 6, 7.
this class is kicking my heiney! i am taking a&p 1 (8 week class) and chemistry (8 week class), so i am cramming down a lot in a little time. but if i finish these pre-reqs i should be able to start acc bsn fall 2009.
